Title: What engine in Spit1 and Hurr1?
Post by: Krusty on September 20, 2006, 08:19:02 PM
I've got an idea for a graphic but I need to find some images of the engines in the Spit1 and Hurr1, Battle of Britain era.

I think they're different versions of the same engine, right? Hurr1 is something like "Merlin XX" right?

For BoB era.

Spit I - Merlin II, III
Hurricane - Merlin II, III

The XX came in with the Hurricane IIA, IIB. IIC.
Spit never used the XX.

Spit basically progressed thru
II, III, 32, 45, 45M, 46, 50, 50A, 50M, 55, 55M, 56, 61, 63, 63A, 66 (266), 70.
