Last night was the most fun I've had since the change. The numbers were fairly even, and several big fights ensued. Once things settle down I hope to see alot more nights like it.

hello there sendero luminoso. this has nothing to do with the the topic of this thread but I wanted to ask never the less. do you know how mobile alabama came by it's name?

Limiting the arena numbers has had a huge (positive) effect on the gameplay.

Not sure if this is the standard story, but:
Mabila, Alibamu (from which the French and present-day version name of 'Mobile, Alabama' derived it's name)

If yesterday was Tuesday night, US time, the distribution was about 100 each for Knights and Bish and about 50 for Rooks. Naturally, in that environment, Rooks were being pounded by both sides and were without radar most of the night. The ENY was about 8-9 for Knights and Bish, which didn't seem to have much effect on the pounding.
Even under those challenging conditions, the clever and handsome Rooks were able to avoid being reset, won all battles, individual air duels, captured bases through extraordinary perserverance and superior tactics and pushed the heathen Bish and Knights back like scared kittens.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Others may have a different version. ;)
The side balancing of 100/100/50 brought up a question in my mind. If the intent is to make people switch sides to even them up, how many people switched sides last night?

Lazer and I went Rooks. Usually fly Knits but always look for low numbers side first.

Or, the short version: We got vulched, then we porked, bombed, strafed, captured, and vulched everything and everyone we could find.
Was interesting after hearing that the war had suddenly died, to see the underdog country (led and assisted by some vets of the old style of cartoon war making) organize, force a stalemate, then take multiple bases despite resistance, and without losing any additional fields, and mostly without radar, troops, or ord. I had gotten the impression that this wasn't possible. ;)

Yeah but Furball was in an LA7 vulching, and I even vulched in my 38G trying to keep them down at A1. I've never landed 9 kills of any sort before. I felt so ashamed :(
Sadly it was the only game in town.

Yes, it's name comes from a tribe of aboriginal americans ('Indians') who lived here when europeans first settled the area. Some other spellings are Maubilla, Mauvilla, Maubile.
