According to presumption of innocence you cannot consider someone a criminal untill a court convicts him/her.
So media and other groups use that fact to deal with and take interviews with the enemies.
But in case when a side publicly admits taking and killing a hostage there should be no need for court.
Anyone dealing with such criminals or helping them should automatically be accused of support and/or treason.
That would include "charity" organisations, media, reporters, websites, etc.
