Those who missed this - and that is virtually all of you! - are poorer this morning. You should always mark your calendar if you see an announcement of a Filth mission; I've yet to experience one that didn't produce a hugely wonderful fight.
As it turned out, only seven people showed up (initially). Filth flew a formation of Ju-88s, and had three 109Fs for escort. Lurch led the Allied opposition. The mission ran twice in the total span of one hour. Everyone knew where the attack would be made, Filth announced the altitudes of his planes, the Allies stuck to their patrol zone until they spotted the German aircraft. People coming into the area followed the plan, went to the appropriate bases and did what they were supposed to do. The combats were excellent, the bombers made it through, and the hypothetical facts behind the mission increased the enjoyment thereof.
I post this here because it seems pertinent to me in light of all the complaints of people who are dissatisfied that (1) there aren't always high numbers when and where they fly, and (2) that their squads are broken up. Filth proved (yet again) that it doesn't take a lot of numbers to have a lot of fun, and that some of the very best fun can be had when friends take opposite sides.
