Some lame HS reunion is coming up, 20 years, so I get a call about it.. seems a celebrity alumni, or two, will be there, including A HUGE star...
Pauly Shore!!!
Yea I remember him, we even hung out.. but WTF are they trying to do here?, scare people away?
Look at this list of celeb alumni: Gina Gershon, Angelina Jolie, Michael Klesic, Nicolas Cage, Lenny Kravitz, David Schwimmer , Jonathan Silverman, Rhonda Fleming, Jackie Cooper, Rob Reiner, Antonio Sabato Jr., Pauly Shore, Michael Tolkin, Betty White, Corbin Bernsen, Elizabeth Daily, Albert Brooks, and Crispin Glover.
Add the Motown Gordys, Smoky Robinsons son, and some punker from NoFx.
MAYBE I'd go if bikini clad Gina Gershon and Angelina Jolie were kicking Paulys dick in the dirt.
Got me thinking tho... anyone have famous High School Alumni? and if I see Pauly and assault him on video, should I post it on youtube for profit?
Edit: Idiot friend who called me said it was next month, but it was on the 8th of this month.
Damm, I was so looking forward to seeing Pauly and hoping he was as miserable as his movies.
-
Do you think any of those celebs will actually turn up?
No international stars were I went (duh) only a couple of _really_ rich folks. But that is kinda expected. Would have been suprised if all of them managed to loose all that "old" money.
-

The strongest man in America (http://www.tothenextlevel.org/docs/testimonies/testimonies_olympic_sports/hammon_shane/default.asp)
Glad the check didn't bounce : )
Nice guy. I rember lifting weights with him in high school football.
They had a bar graph to show how much each person was lifting, they had to add more room on his chart.

Wow, didn't even know this guy went to my highschool until I read teh wikipedia link.
Carroll Shelby (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carroll_Shelby)

One of my HS english teachers was James Baird or PeeWee on the TV series Fury. He was a great guy who would tell us stories of the goings on on the set.
That is the only famous person I remember in HS but during my JrHS days my dad worked for David Crosby's mother on a regular basis. I spent quite a bit of time at the house he grew up in and when 'The Byrds" first single came out, 'Turn, Turn Turn' and 'Mr. Tamborine Man', we were all given signed disks. The party David had that year is still talked about among the locals old enough to remember.

I do. Other than the *infamous* Ray Nagin, councilwoman Jackie Clarson's daughter (who's name escapes me right now but she's in the new remake of "All the King's men") also went to O.P.Walker. Cant think of her name - its something Clarkson! :D
Nightcourt's John Larroquette went to high school right across the river from me in Chalmette.
-
John Mayer...The guy is actually really cool...He will come back to Connecticut every 3 months or so, and he can always been seen hanging out at some of the college bars...He is always willing to sign an autograph, and even better, always up for a conversation...Twice ive seen john just start jamming on and he gave us a free acoustic show! I hear he is also pretty good at comedy, but i havnt seen him to stand up yet....All around great guy though, who hasnt let his celebrity status get 2 his head

Went to elementary school with Eric Harris, one of the Columbine shooters. This wasn't in high school, but somehow I'm glad for that.

Better check the contract and make sure the position doesn't read "bent over." ;)

I went to Junior High and High School with Jason Gildon (Pitsburgh Steelers) We were in the same English class our senior year 1990 Altus High, Altus OK.

This isn't high school, but a memory this topic sparked. When I was in grammar school, one of my classmates was the niece of Apollo 11's comand modual pilot, Michael Collins. I think it was 1970 or 1971 he visited her family (the Wards who owned Ward Lumber in New Orleans) and gave a talk at our grammar school. It was powerful stuff for an 11 year old. He stayed at the home of my classmate and they renamed her street to Gen. Collins.
I haven't thought about that for a long time. That was different age (there's no wistful emoticon).

my dad was in a band with Tom Petty in High school. they would always try to get deals but neither of them never thought Tom would get this famous.
also jessica simpson graduated from the same high school as my mom.
-
John Hughes graduated from my HS in Northbrook IL
Apparently his North Suburban Chicago HS existance really made an impact for some odd reason.
Sixteen Candles
The Breakfast Club
Pretty In Pink
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
All of these movies pretty much captured my HS experience, which was apparently similar to John's of a decade earlier. I hope you were as bored by the big screen versions as I was by the real thing :) The Breakfast Club in particular captured the the archetypes very well.
Had a bunch of friends as extras in Pretty in Pink. The two big guys behind the wall of beer cans -- I played football with one and the other was a big football talent from our local rival HS. One of the few players you had to specifically counter as an individual.
[edit: also had a lot of pro athletes kids there, since many lived in the area. One girl from my class ended up being Will Purdue's go to girl for a while]
