Thanks all for the fun playing AH while it lasted.. I just deleted all AH from my system, to keep the temptation from playing a sub-fun game and motivating me to try all the other sims. I'd rather fight against AI than be jerked around and have the game changed every year wether its broke or not. I'll be on the lookout for the next sim with a mega arena that comes as close to warfare as I'll ever get, ( i hope) >S<

kinda dramatic ain't cha? this sort of behavior reminds me of stuff women do when they don't get their way, then a week or so later she starts coming 'round to daddy again. well......bye.

I have also cancelled my AH account. Well more accurately, I am letting it expire today. Not blaming the changes - far from it - the changes are a probably a step in right direction., but I am no high dollar master game designer. Just not having fun. Zzaaap is out of action for the forseeable future - I look forward to visiting again in a year or so and seeing how things have developed. Good luck and happy flying.

At the moment the only difference in the game is there are a couple extra arena that don't have LA7's or spit16's--these 2 arenas seem to peel off about 25% of the online flyers. (I DID notice one thing in LW last night-- 140 bish, 120 nits....80 Rooks...and Bish had LA7's AND Spit16---ENY is gone now?

On the other hand, people get bored and leave games/sims because the game doesn't move forward, doesn't evolve.
Some people don't want any changes, others quit because there are no changes....

Its funny my AH2 makes 1.7Gb :O
LWA is pretty lame....horde land....only interest is unperked ta152, but when you are tired of being ganged by ponys, you switch to another arena and have real fights, with teamplayers not guided missiles with Mgs on wings.

If memory serves me right he's part of the MAW, neverless he will be missed, Ive flown with him on many missions and hes a good stick as well as all the MAW kak3 Hope the game takes a turn for the better sense my interest has also dwindled and find myself flying less

why do people even post these "goodbye cruel world" post? Am I the only one who is struck by the sillyness of the melodramatic undertones? You want to move? fine then move on. leave the door open for your return without having to assume a new identity. there is no better substitue for AHII out there currently, warts and all this is the best thing going and most of us are addicted.

We had a long talk; Kak, Whels, and myself a couple weeks ago. Not only were they both cordial, but they made some good points about the future of the game.
I couldn't agree with them on more than 15-20% (even less with his comments above), but the fact it was a cordial debate makes me realize that maybe losing Kak isn't such a great idea.
You'll be back, regardless...

I would like to thank A20Gman or should I say "Zzaaap" for quitting with out letting his fellow squad mates know. As far as I know it is courteous to do so, seeing that you joined us and all!!! You have been dishonorably discharched from our squad and is not welcomed back.
You where not alone in this cause army900 did the same thing he to is not welcomed back.
I hate quitters... especially when they don't let their squad mates know.

Its just interesting to see how many people are leaving. tommorrow with the start of the new tour we will see how many guys leave. I wish there was a way to keep track. Start a new thread on all the guys thats leaving. Yea new guys will come but i cant stand the questions "how do ii take off" last nite i was on and surrounded by guys that didnt know what the hell they were doing, i just logged and went to sleep:lol

My computer just tells me "bigger than 1.85GB" when I select my HTC folder. But my Aces High II folder alone is 2.98GB. If I add all the folders within my HTC folder, it is around 4.12GB

When there are 500 guys on... There are probly only about 300 that I enjoy being on with.. the guys who quit over this arena change are probly the ones that I won't miss.

Nothing wrong with trying other games/sims. The only point that I would make though is than you can play and enjoy other games while still playing AH.
I currently play Half-Life2, Falcon4 AF and AH. I also really like Lock-On FC. Although I am not playing it right now. COD2 is also really good.
The point is...... When AH sucks for whatever reason. Just shut it off and load up another game. AH connot and should not be your "Only" gaming experence IMHO. If you do get into other stuff I think you will find that AH is actually more enjoyable. I think you will then find that all the little stuff that used to drive u crazy is really nonsense.

In most situations, the realization that an activity is "sub-fun", would be incentive enough for most people to move on to a different activity without any further ado. I think it was two years ago - I quit AH cold turkey. Deleted the game, put away the joystick and pedals, packed away the headset. What I have learned in that time is that the itch never goes away.
HiTech and crew on what you've created here. It was by far the most powerful and addicting game experience I ever had. A big to all I flew with and against - Hitech made the game but you guys brought it to life.
I noted with interest the retirement of a single MA, and I'm looking forward to reading you guy's impressions when Combat Theater is finally released.
Dan, is Itsy Bitsy still in the game?

I cut my account sunday nite, ill wait until we start getting updates or tod is added. Its sucks because this nov i would have put in a full year. Last flight in a p51d, killed a tempest and a f4u1d, funny because i remember my first time i couldnt even get the p51 off the ground. ghost718 is dead:cry . Ill try some new games but hopefully by april or may updates new planes tod are here(includeing korea:aok ). For now ill just keep track of the bb's and keep up with the news. Aces high has alot of potential and with time should become the primer air combat sim. But with no upgrades this will never happen.

I understand what he was trying to point out...
First off i recognize that HiTech needs to do whatever he thinks is best for the game. He has information that guided his decision. The current setup is his decision to help the game along. i understand that and respect it.
But in my opinion the problem was not the large arena but instead the lack of new maps that adequately addressed the varying needs of the large arena. that is honestly what i think the direction should have been.
New Maps for large arena should have:
1) large numbers of bases for strat guys
2) limited number of capturable fields to reduce gang necessity
3) advanced fitertown that cant be porked or taken for furbal guys
4) advanced Tank town for gv guys that cant be taken/porked
vary the terrain and voila a good compromise!!!
I wont pretend to know all about T.O.D. (CTD), but i am not interested in a variant of a RPG. I have a bunch of those but i prefer the dynamic play of AH as it existed. I am having more trouble "getting into the game" as time goes by (since the change). I am really trying to get "that" feeling back and i hope i do! i just hope other folks find it as well and we dont continue with guys leaving. from leading alarge squad for a long time...i realize that guys dont always give things "extra time" or "a second chance". They make a decision and its done.

HMMM, odd...oh wait no it isn't; people were whining "I'm weevin' heew for-eber & eber" & the usual wolves were bashing them then.
If your gonna leave, just say C-ya folks - break time...& go.
I left a couple of months ago because of problems coordinating my P/C with the game, always having to reset something & plus...it got sort of boring which was the main reason for taking a break. So I played BF2 & beta tested BF2142 & just turned AHII back on, went through the usual stick settings p.i.t.a. (I unplugged my peripherals for a water cooling project; it's always something) only to discover my fairly new USB logitech headset doesn't work anymore & there are two new main arenas, can't say I'm crazy about that, but it's not my call & heck...maybe it's a good thing (I can get yet another headset & the arena changes I'll get used to).
My point is, you don't have to delete the game to take a break, or to make a point; or announce it like the queen just died. No one really cares if you delete the game & saying you did just makes you look silly. I left without notice, did my thing, didn't get bashed for it & no one even noticed I was gone (at least I don't think anyone noticed or even cared) And the same goes for you my man, leave, goof around with other games, enjoy life, change your nick & come back because deep down you know, AHII is like crack....you'll be back; they always come back. :aok
