Title: One last X52 question with SSt
Post by: cav58d on October 02, 2006, 07:27:59 PM
Okay...I want to map the pinkie button in mode 1 as "5", or "look up"...I want that to happen when I solo or single click and hold the pinkie switch...

I also want to use the pinkie button as my shift button to double up on commands...Problem is when I right click and make it a "shift button", it does not allow me to put the "5" in so to be a command button?  Any ideas?

If anyone is willing to help please PM me with yer # so I can call you...i really wanna get this fixed tonight

i have x52 stick x45 throttle (hate x52 throttle) and ch pedals.  ah2's new mapping is very simple took me about 5 minutes to remap everything.

Map it as Shift in SST software, and then map it as 5 with the AH interface. Get zoom sorted out yet?

Cav -

Leave the joystick "pinkie" button as your "look-up" view modifier, as we discussed by our phone conversation.

I'm a bit unclear as to what you want to the pinkie to do after that.  Explain it a bit further and perhaps we/I can suggest another joystick/throttle button to assign that command to.

The problem with that is that I have my X-52 set up to do things AH setup cant.

Flayed -question for you.

I found the X52 joystick pitch, yaw & rudder axes a little too mushy for my taste, and yes, I adjusted input scales numerous times. What I did was keep the throttle and add in a Sidewinder P2 which is smooth as silk.

My throttle 8-way hat is programmed for vox (ch + range) and flaps (up + down) E button is ZOOM and the smaller blue button below is clipboard toggle. I've got nothing going on with the 2 dials or the slider or the mini-mouse. Any suggestions? I've tried to program the dials for elevator and aileron trim but they seem to input all or nothing.

Assuming you're going to tell me that I need to program those functions using SST software (hate it- HATE IT!!) will that work considering how I have the hotas set-up?

I use the pinkie button as WEP.

I use the mouse stick button on the throttle as look up.

I have the X45, but do basically the same thing.  Pinkie is WEP, and the big orange buton onthe throttle (D) is "look up".  I found that it was difficult to have my thumb trying to turn the hat switch while my pinkie was holding the pinkie switch. (I guess Im uncoordinated. . . .).  Anyway - this seems to work out much better for me.

Re: the X52 - I thought about switching to it when my view hat wore out on the X45, but yes, it seemed too "mushy" for me.  I just got the X45 fixed, and bought a re-furbished one for back-up.
