LOL yup, thats about the size of it anymore too.
Everybody is so paranoid.
Thats exactly whats keeping me from placing the "DANGER! MINE FEILD!" sign in my front yard
-
lol - coincidentally, that thing looks exactly like the old civil defense gieger counters that you can find in storage all over the US.
-
Right on the Money Gunthr!
Looks exactly like the old civil defense Gieger's with new guts and a flashy paint job.
The ones I remember seeing were ussually bright yellow.
-
yep... geiger counter but with digital thingie...
You can buy a real gieger counter from the old shelters complete with radiation symbols and functioning for I think, about $50... it was either in "cheaper than dirt" or "sprotsmans guide".

How many geigers can it count?
All of them?
-
I don't think it counts all of em.

Then you better have a list of were they all are. And if you dont then the counter is pretty useless. Kinda like a calculator that is right most of the time.
I think they should be banned.
-
If it counts all of them you better read it with a satellite.
-
I'm not proud of this, but I seem to remember putting my dive watch in my skivvies and detecting the luminous radiation and telling my buddies that I had a radioactive johnson.
-
Lol, either Nilsen is being a smartass, or he just doesn't know what a geiger counter is.

everyone knows they count geigers. they are hard to count so you need a machine.

Indeed
Its not like you can keep track of them all manually is it? You need a counter.
-
I fail to see the relavence... you wanted the thing for looks anyway.
it would fit right in with most bans tho since it does look mean and evil and we all know that a ban should allways take into consideration how evil something looks.

But the one pictured in the link isn't black and plastic, so it would probably remain legal post-ban.

Just for the record.
Just how many Geigers are there?
And does a special alarm go if if any show to be missing?
-
Let me show you my "Little Friend" at Kirtland AFB & you can count the Geigers yourself DREDIOCK. The glowing Johnson problem only bugs you for a few days before it falls off. BTW, we had Geiger counters around the house when I was a kid in the '50s. Dad worked for a couple years at a mine that had some Uranium ore though it was primarily a chromium mine. I had this chunk of uranium ore to play with as well as a chunk of asbestos. We are a little safer with our kids now, thank God.
