I'm gonna keep my account open this month, & hope for some gameplay improvement. During this month, im going to learn as much as I can about hosting my own H2H arena. Where I will be able to provide an environment that caters to those seeking actual a2a battles. Off to the H2H boards-:aok
-
LW1 is the same as the old MA except for eny stuff as far as I can see.
-
Will there be any dogfighting there? If so, can I play? :)

close but no cigar, the limit is still too small, eny limits and eny values need adjustment also (10 eny for hurr IIC??)

Its worse, all the nice players are in EMW or MWA now, LWA is just picking hording, teamplay is minimal. The players got "filtrated".

Did a bit of reading and some test hosting sessions, seems like its going to work ok. Still I'd rather find some good battles in the pay to play areas.
Gave Pay to play another try tonite- logged into EW first as always, 1st sortie I lifted cane1, got jumped by 2 high spit5s. I think I could have beaten either one of them 1on1, but together they got me before I git either of them.
Next sortie I get jumped by a VERY high 109, no worries I burn his E off, but by the time I get on his 6, 2 other knits come to save him. Resulting in me losing a 3on1. This in an arena with less than 30 total players.
So I logged off & watched some shows I had TEVOd-
Come back a couple hours later & had a few fun runs defending a base in EW, then total numbers got so low ya couldnt find a fight-
checked the rosters & only 30 in MW- Off to LW for a try at the gamey show. Lifted 44 & grabbed west with a wingman, both of us in yakU. 1st plane we see very high Zeke, he ins & I get enough speed to keep him at bay. Proceed to drag him for my wingman. while we do this, 2 more NMe jump in- take a guess what they were flyin---- yup 1 was an la7 & the other a spit16- it was a fairly good fight but my wingman & I both died, and then we both logged.
I remember when there was some pride in winning a fair fight. Now it seems the majority mentallity is win at any cost, fly the easiest planes in the planeset, with the biggest numbers possible.:furious
-
yeah, but there's a lot more pride when you can whip a la7 and a spit 16 in a hurri 1 in a 2 v1 :) I'd say your setting your goals too low.
-
you wanna see disgusting?
ill send you a picture of me naked.
Yup :aok
*Edit* This is to waffle, on a personal note, i realy apreciate what you are doing for the aceshigh comunity,as well as takeing some work off the always over worked and always apreciated HTC staff.
Your work has helped the eye candy of aces high triplefold.
and i know ya'll are not finished yet.
Waffle & HTC staff. "somehow something so simple doesnt cut it but its all i got.":aok
*P.S. why oh why do we not have a realy groovy "Salute" smily?
:furious This one is gold.

Seems to me you cry about every fight you lost. I guess it was fair to drag the zeke for your friend but when the zeke got help, you cried and logged?
-
give the wabbit a carrot for that answer.
-
I say give that rabbit two carrots for that answer :aok
2 yaks couldnt beat a La7 and Spit16? :huh
-
That's what I was thinking. He double teams the zeke but then doesn't like the 2v3.
I don't mind the 1v2 as long as they do not try to ho me at anytime.

Theres another guy on this BBS.....you and him should share some kleenex's. Maybe your long lost brothers. You sound just alike.
-
Think this is a whine post. I have no problem finding a fight in 3 areans. Also it could be that i am not pickie about the fights. If the only way you have fun is to look for 1 v 1 our easy co alt 2 v1 then h2h is for you. I play h2h when their are no fights and most of the pilots lack skills to help me improve my skill level. Also you need to get off your high horse and have fun with the game and yes your going to be shot down. Your a vet i would understand this post from some 2 week newb...

I like dogfighting with 2 cons v.s. me, I die most the time but I always learn a new lesson. You use different tactics when fighting 1 on 1 v.s. 2 on 1.

Me to JMFJ, I found this base close by last night. I just flew around over it and would let the guys take off from their base and grab some E . Then I would fight them mostly 2 v 1 . It was fun fun fun. This one poor guy was so new though that I felt so bad killing him, but he kept upping his plane and basically I tried to let him turn some so he could learn.

Well well Clutz, nice to hear an individual helping to improve the game. By letting him get in some turns and just possibly a hit or two, he gains confidence and is much less likely to quit the game. Once he gets the basics... well he's hooked like us :aok

Twin somethings. Everytime I hear from my squaddies what the one from 200 is saying...I think of that lil guinea pig in Dr. Doolittle....
I have been violated !!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
No, I was referring to Atoon.
-
Yeah those Spit 5's seem to be extremely pesky now, turn like zeke's almost. I have no problem with a 2v1 or 3v1 I figure i'll die anyway so I try to hold out as long as possible and take some pot shots before going down. It's a game, you gotta have fun man. If it isn't fun, take a break and come back. H2H has worse gameplay then MA in my personal experiences.
Anyway, good luck.
-
considering that the LW is the most popular arena, & that the spixteen & elgay7 are the most popular planes in that arena, the many negative response realy don't surprise me at all. Just another indication of the pathetic mindset of most AH players.
I give mad props to guys like Greebo, an extremely skilled pilot who has mastered a not so easy plane, ans sticks to it. Too bad he's the only one of his kind that I can think of.....
If there were more guys like Greebo setting such a fine example, I think the game would be alot better for all. Sadly, most players with Greebos flight time still fly nubie rides regularly.
-
cause it's really sucks to whoop two lalas and a spit in a hurr1 and then have em run away from....you gotta have something to chase em down. :)
-
Atoon, is that the name you use ingame? I looked that one up for this tour and that ID has the most kills while riding in a spit 16:huh

Young man, you need to get out more.....
...and you might do well to pontificate less from a position of inexperience and ignorance.
There are entire squads dedicated to specific aircraft. Off the top of my head -- The 80th FS guys hardly leave their P-38s for potty breaks. The JBs fly Luftwaffe exclusively, and those are not easy rides. The 4th FG have a number of good jug sticks.
Not to mention individuals that excel in favorite rides. How about Yucca in the P-47 -- a living nightmare to fight, even if you have the "better" plane. Or AKElfy in his Dash One Hog of Terror? Or Schatzi in the Hurri I...The list is long...
And many others who switch around but generally dont take easy rides.
You have much to learn....

I've no doubt there is much for me to learn, Its a big game with many planes and vehicles. Still I question how much any of those you have mentioned fly these days. I fly fairly often but I dont see much of those you listed. Maybe they fly at diff times than I. Or per haps they don't fly much anymore for SOME reason. I see Shatzi all over the BBS, but not in the air, Havent seen Yucca much lately, I see Elfy but we usually on the same country. I know Coach is great in his Typhie, but for SOME reason, I dont see him much anymore either.
Still, a handfull of guys/gals in an arena of 350- well it doenst take a math wizard to calculate the suckage. I'm sure that when any of the pilots you or I mention get run down by 3-5 spixteens and/or elgays, they are just as disgusted as I am. Maybe thats the reason I dont see them much anymore.

Maybe they're in the Early war, or Mid war arena?

CTAI0001 is really good in almost any plane. :)

omg sudz = CTAI0001!! omg
im curious though, how do you programe the AI to react to our moves? surely there are only so many variables of choice for the AI before it gets confused and augers in panic.
are ya gunna make furballing AI and score tard AI??

Maybe a couple, but not many. EW rarely has more than 30 players total, & thats my preferred arena, well it was before the numbers got so low there

I highly agree Redtop.
-
like I said before- considering what the majority of you dweebs fly, your words & even pics- have no more merit than the dweebs rides you fly:D
-
Greebo
Coach
any others that stray from the flocks of sheep
:aok :D :aok :D :aok :D :aok :D :aok :D
-
Hurricanes are dweeb rides for only N00bs, Schatzi flies the Hurri 1, thus she is a n00b:aok Ask her yourself. I myself prefer the hurricane as well, EW, MW, and LW though it's typically in the best interest of survival to take the 2C in the LW.
-
I have come to respect those who fly LGays & Spit16s. It's an advertisement to find & kill them. My k/d ratio (& I still consider myself a noob) is still greater than one against those rides as it is for most who don't just furball till they die. I like to use them for hurry-up base defense myself, a few times a month.

Just hunch...but I'd bet you don't have a clue what "most" of us ride in.
Just fly:rolleyes:
-
First of all, I really dont care what "you" fly, If I did I'd look it up.
Secondly, I have no doubt which 2 planes are the most commonly flewn in AH.
Thirdly, My personal kil ratio Vs those 2 planes is near or above 3 killz per death. Yet they are still the main reaseon I rarely fly LW.:aok
My problem isn't just with the planes. Plane choice is just the most obvious sympton of the majority of todays players tendencies to stack the odds completely in their favor. The other symptoms are large to moderate numbers attacking empty bases, only to move on to another empty base/es when they find an active defense at the first. The common desire to ruin some ammount of fun for anyone in the game at whatever the cost; those who will grab in a set of buffs for 1 hour just to clear the mtns. into tanktown. (Plenty of regular bases to bomb, but if I hit TT, it will REALLY piss em off).
Now that there are so many arenas, a new problem is large squads coming into small arenas. This in itself wouldn't be so bad, IF the large squad surveyed the arena and went to the country with the lowest numbers, in an attempt to promote good gameplay. Unfortunately the exact opposite is what commonly occurs. Lets say for example there are 25Bish, 15Rooks, & 30Knits fighting in MW- Its not uncommon that with numbers like this there is little or no fighting on the knit/bish front. A large squad of 12 or more enter, and of course they decide to attack the smallest number side, which also happens to be fighting 2 fronts. As if that wasn't bad enough, they have to be in mostly spits & la5s & arrive at 18-20k.
Just seems like these days, more people are interested in winning at whatever the cost. And back a few years ago, people were interested in good fights.
-
I had 4 kills or more in 21 diff. planes last tour, but I am still a niki dweeb at heart.
Antoon, do you fly under the name Antoon? It has been asked in this thread and you never replied. I want to see if inded you have a 3 to 1 k/d vs. Spit16's and La7's.
The Antoon that I looked up didn't.
-
Not sure who Antoon is, my BBS handle is Atoon. My In game name is not a secret, in fact it has been revealed on these BBS 2-5 times, on ch200 15-20 times, & on Rook channel more times than I can count. Heck, I even had a direct old handle to new handle definition posted on my squad roster page, but sadly my former squad has disbanded, due to extensive naggy, beltchy whining from our XO. Now, that(posted for all the world to see) info has fallen into the online abiss. I have left very many clues who I am.
I'm not really hiding. It's just kinda fun watchin some of you get yer panties in a bunch over it because you can't decifer the clues. Seeing how the game isn't as fun as it once was, I'll take my grins how I can get em:p Bsides, you just want to disect my inflight records. This tactic is common in politics as well as courthouse procedures. I have nothing to hide, which makes it more fun watching you dig.
With that said, what does my ingame info have to do with my opinion on current gameplay? Do you think I am not a current paying subscriber????
:t
-
Because you're making people suspicious that you're just blowing smoke out of your oscar and trying to puff yourself up bigger than you really are.
La-7s are overrated. All you need to do is know where they are so you can dodge the HO-and-run, then just drag them in close-quarters and knife 'em to death. You can eat 99% of the ElGay pilots for lunch that way.
Incidentally, it seems to me lately the numbers of La-7s and Spixteens have fallen off since the arena split. I've been seeing far more La-5s and Spit VIII's than before.

The Spitfire V flies exactly the same as they did before the arena split. All that has happened is that you just stumbled across someone that knows how to fly it well.

this is the 1st tour that I saw for the CPID atoon.

And thats the problem with the LGay. It will run you down. DOnt want to get ran down? Dont run. I love that plane because once I have vis, you have to fight to get home. Should be easy to kill me since everyone in an LGay sucks, so whats the problem? :lol Problem is, if the LGay sees you, you cannot land your picks and vulches until you kill it. :noid

actually, most people whp fly buffs to tank town do it because some one spawn camped them, or because they want the monopoly on easy kills. not to piss anyone off.

you're flying in the wrong arena if you only want good fights. All you need is a friend and the DA to be open...no? so first anton, make yourself a friend (read: have fun dont just beotch here) then go DA and voila, good fights. not rocket science.

Are you kidding? What if he gets his arse handed to him in the DA and there is no excuse about LGays and Spits? My experience is that people cry when they die. He is obviusly getting killed by spits and lalas and cant handle it.

I can only guess you didnt read all my posts fink, apparently not even the first one. Your probably right that going to the DA with any number of my many in game friends would probably be the best way to have a good fight. But thats not what I am paying for now, and it's not going t be what I pay for in the future. In fact, the initial post was that I will most likely stop paying, and create my own multi-player arena where a2a is widely promoted.

What you are forgetting Ack-Ack is that 99% of the people running from the La-7 have no ****ing clue as to how to fight ... else they wouldn't be running in the first place.
It's that 1% that turn into the La-7 is what the La-7 has to worry about ... and when that happens ... it's the La-7 that now becomes the runner ... and they especially watermelon their panties when it's another La-7 that turned into them.
-
You two keep crying abou the lalas. I use them to hunt you down. There may be safety in alt or numbers or the confusion of a furball, but if the lala wants to fight you, you have no choice.
Slap, why would anyone try to run from a lala? Just turn towards it and it will run or die, right? The plane does that by itself, no pilot inputs required :lol

Some sort of white wine...zinfindel, cabernet , yadda yadda yadda.

Anton goes by unknome in the arenas, correct? Because there is also a player with the CPID atoon that was fighting the other day on center island. The atoon I ran into was a rather nice fellow and nothing like the whiner Anton is unless Anton has a split personality and atoon is the cool one.

i remember back in AH1 when i was very new anton used to own my spitfire in his yak. I remember anton being a good guy, fun to fight, and polite afterwards no matter the outcome. I dont think he whines more than anyone else.
