Title: Remember the Muhammed drawing mess?
Post by: Nilsen on October 04, 2006, 05:16:16 AM
Well

Norwegian TV has done it again in a documentary about the "episode". The program that aired last night showed the drwaings again. Already the fundamentalist muslims are starting with their whining and "uprising". :)

They are again demanding an apology from Norway.

The response? "sorry, you have to learn to deal with it" The channel that has aired the documetnary has gotting full support from the government. The fundamentalists has not now, nor will they ever dictate "freedom of speach in Norway"

I predict a new round of flag burning and attacks on norwegian interests and diplomats.

I say we take off and nuke the entire from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

I agree with Ripley.

They are sertainly free to turn off their tv sets if it bothers them that much. If they have to watch it then they are free to debate it too if they want to. They can even debate freedom of speach until thier throats are sore and their typing fingers fall off....wont help them much tho.

As far as i know all airports are operating normally so if those living here find it so hard to deal with then they can get on a plane like everyone else and fly to the destination of their choise.

a refreshing response from Norway.  :aok   the sooner these Islamists get jerked out of the stone age, the better off we will all be.

I just wish England would do the same.

Same response they got the last time they whined and fired ak47s in the air (no idea who they try to hit).

Maybe this time they can atleast do some proper research and draw the correct flag on their sheets before they burn them. :lol

When the arab countries boycotted products from Norway (or was that Denmark? you guys all look the same.) the sales of those same products shot up almost 20 percent in the USA.

The Progress Party (FrP) is Norway's second largest political party (Labour Party being biggest) for which I'm a card-carrying member.

It should be noted that the "ban Islam" comments come from some rather unimportant local politicians, and is not the policy of the party (though I wish it were).

I think a country, even a democratic one, should be able to ban those who want to immigrate if they do not support the culture of the country.  It is a simple concept.  Does anyone think that a modern secular Dane or Norwegian can become a citizen of an Islamist state without embracing Islam?

Well, I commend you guys for not cowering in fear of the radicals. There will probably be a price to be paid but freedom of speech is worth it.

This is the only way to deal with the situation, imho.  I still can't believe the pope apologized.  My response would have been a request to show where the pope misspoke.  If Islam is the peaceful religion we are being told it is, why does Jihaad seem to be such a fundamental exercise of it?  Or are the jihaadists in error?  If Islam wants a debate let's have at it.  All I can see, though, is that they don't want a debate.  The clerics want to shut down every opposing viewpoint without regard to what point is being made.  WTG Norway.  (the hausfrau is half norwegian and half italian.)

I don't think the pope actually aoplogized for what he said, only that it was misunderstood.

They've done some nice 1-year documentaries here too. It's pretty amusing to have the documentary guy sit there and ask "what have we learned?" while the offending cartoons are cycled through on a screen behind him.

That's Danish culture. Bit more subtle than the American one, but accomplishes the same thing.
