What proof do you have that the top one is photoshopped?
Title: I thought I saw media spin before...
Post by: Shuckins on October 04, 2006, 04:14:08 PM
Not an attempt at altering the facts....probably just an error by the boob in charge of forming the text underneath the lead story.

Why would they even think they could deceive the public with this when every other news agency has reported Foley is a Republican?

I think it's probably bogus. If it is real I have serious doubts that it was intended. Fox News will be sorely embarrassed by this if the blunder is real.

Actually Foley has become a Democrat so he can say it's "private" and thus ok, since it has nothing to do with his decisions on legislation, or the boys "have the right to choose what to do with their bodies". BTW, a local radio talk host- Kim Peterson- had a great scetch about calling the congressional pages office & asking them what they thought about Foley.

Once again:

Fox news successfully defended against a wrongful termination lawsuit by arguing that the media is not legally obligated to tell the truth.

I didn't see that story (about the lawsuit outcome) broadcast on any other news channel.

I think the whole video thing is kinda funny. It certainly won't make me watch Fox more or less and I'm sure the same is true for you. So, does it really matter?

Before you go too far, you might want to examine the source of your "news".  Seriously.

I guess Mr. Foley was just a little confused when he accidentally resigned and blamed this on his drinking and catholic church.  Kinda like, he slipped in the shower and suddenly apologized for his actions?

Either way, this has nothing to do with Foley, it's about the O'Reilly show and their sillyness.

I find it almost humorous how the democrats are feigning outrage over Foley and this silly Fox news thing. If the situation were reversed (which it most definitely has been in the not so distant past) would any democrat be swayed to vote republican? I don't think so. If every single republican politician suddenly became gay with an interest in 16 year old boys I still wouldn't vote democrat. I'd find another country to live in first.

that's very commendable, but unfortunatley, it's looking grim, there's a lot of Republicans that are angry with them (Repubs) and will be speaking out at the polls,  Looks like Hastert and Reynolds are slugging it out in the blame game and the sleaze just drags on and on....

The video that was linked supposedly as a reputable source from MSNBC claiming that the video in question  was indeed broadcast by Fox. I listened to it for a while but the guy was hemorrhaging such bile in his hatred for Bush that I found it very distasteful. It showed as being 11 minutes in my player.

Oh, I know it was a mistake, and a silly one.  I just have to wonder sometimes what's going through their mind when they do it.  They taped that show hours ahead of airing, it's a bit surprising that they missed that teensy error.

You do realize that the superimposed text wasn't recorded with the earlier broadcast right? Otherwise it would have been aired when the show was broadcast earlier in the evening. It was probably added at the time of airing. Could have been a mistake or might have even been a producer having some fun.
