Title: 99.9% Human, 1% Rabbit
Post by: Gunthr on October 05, 2006, 10:43:06 AM: Scientists plan on mixing human cells with rabbit cells to create an embryo that will be 99% human and 1% rabbit.

Reportedly they will allow the embryo to grow only 14 days, and then harvest stem cells. I wonder who would be responsible for insuring that the franken-egg is destroyed after 14 days?

I'm wondering what would happen if they allowed the embryo to grow beyond that and insert it into a human womb?

Ethical or not, I'm convinced that this research will be done somewhere, sometime, and taken to its extreme whether we want it to or not.

They had a goat farm, and milked these goats. In the goat milk was the chemical spiders use to make there webs. They were harvesting this chemical and making there own webs. Thing is that they said the human made spider web at this point is not as strong as the natural one, but that it should be in a couple of years. They also said that the spider web/line is the strongest natural fiber in the world.

The show was about how science is almost to the point where comic book super heros are a reality. I fell asleep but it was really wild.
