Allright, I discovered this game a few weeks ago and have been very excited to play it, except the problem is that the game crashes when I try to open it. I have dowloaded it on three computers, one in which I was able to get to the menu and select online play, then I would select my server and it would crash on loading the server. The same happens for the offline play. On the other two computers I haven't been able to get to the menu without it crashing. The computer which I can access the menu is brand new to, don't know if that or this helps at all because I'm not real techy, but all of them are running on these chips, 1 is Intel Celeron D, and the other two are Intel Pentium 4.
So if anyone knows the answer to this that would be great! Thanks.

Need a lot more information. Particularly about the video cards.
What make/model video card?
What driver version are you using with the video card?
You can find all the above information in DXDIAG (Start->Run->DXDIAG), under the "Display" tab.
-
Ya sorry about not giving more information, I figured it would be needed, but I'm changing cards later today so that is when I will be able to give that information. Thanks for the help and I'll post again as soon as I can.

Ok I replaces my card and it works now. Thank you anyway.

Sam problem, But i have a crappy internal video card on the motherboard or whetever, and this stupid computer of mine will not let any other graphics cards work... I'm thinking about getting a new computer though this 2 is still somewhat new...
I go and click offline play it loads somewhat then white screen then bang the game crashes, I have intel pentium 4 with like a 512 mb ram atleast i think it may be more though...
If you can help me then please... I rember on my old cpu it ran, but that was before ah2... and its a worse cpu than this 1...
please help me...

Need to know what video card and driver you are using in that computer. There are some onboard video chips which simply will not work, but there are some which will.
-
Intel(R) 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family
From Intel
Its Internal
its memory is around 120.0 MB or sumtin...
I got this computer About a year ago now i think...

It said that under the display thing... Next time i buy a cpu im geting 1 with an actual video card and non of that motherboard crap... but i may not get 1 for a while... :/

hello? are you still there, anyone?*echo echo...* lol... humm awhell... ill just go find another game 2 play till i can get this fixed!...
-
ww2fanatic, i *think* it could work with this chip, at least somewhat (mind you, im not 100% sure).
This is what you need to do.
Find the game installment (default is C:\HTC\Aces High II\) and delete the "Settings" folder.
Restart the game. On first login screen, go to VIDEO SETTINGS. Set them to the lowest possible (800x600 screen resolution, 128 texture size). (im guessing the rest of the preload options are greyed out anyway, same for the "optimize terrain/object).
Then try to get into OFFLINE mode. The game will need to build cache. Dont minimize it or do anything else while it does.
Once youre in the game, go to OPTIONS > Graphic Detail (on the clipboard). Move all the detail sliders to the right (performance). Disable skins, effects etc.
If the "optimize terrain/object boxes were greyed out in VIDEO SETTINGS *do not check them here*!!!!!! Otherwise game will crash and you have to restart with deleting your settings folder.
Good luck!
PS: Your last post was about 6 pm Texas time..... Skuzzy DOES have a life and leaves the office for the weekend :).

I set it to 800x whetever lol... and it works fine nothing else has been changed, though the game its not glitchy as in choppy or constentally freezong like alot of games, though there have been alot of glitches as in the black smoke cllouds left from aa guns only half show up at times then ill turn view then full show up for a sec, and u know the trails from the tgs if u go into the f3 view mode and press keypad 0 and 8 i think...(on th eflight deck taking off) it shows the trails allover the screen, these seem like Game glitches more than graphically(card) glitches though...
But other than that and my crappy joystick (lol) it works prety well...
And i didnt know that he lived in texas lol sry lol...

ww2fanatic, im glad you got it to work!

The game doesnt have glitches. It runs baby smooth on my desktop computer. Your graphic chip (and probably the rest of the box too) is just on the lower range of what can still run the game at all, im afraid. Thats what makes the picture all glitchy. (If i run Aces High on my old Lapdtop, i get the same as you).
Thats why i told you to lower all the video and graphic settings to minimum... that might help the glitching a bit.

The game crashes before loading on my computer. My info is:
Windows XP Home Edition
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.00GHz
480 Mb Ram
Direct x 9.0c
Any help would be appreciated.

Need more information. Video card make and model? Sound card?

dizmadman, its best to post the first part of a dxdiag here. This is the how-to, taken from the "Hints and tips"-stickie:
Here are the steps to do this:
1) Go to "Start" from the Windows desktop
2) Select "Run" from the pop up menu
3) In the Run dialog box, type DXDIAG and press
4) After a few seconds the DXDIAG utility will be ready (the progress indicator in the lower left corner will disappear).
5) Run the video and sound diagnostics (Select the Display and Sound tabs to do this).
6) Press the "Save All Information" button
7) This will save the DXDIAG data to a file of your choice
8) Once you have done this, simply email the file to me and I can look for any issues your system might have.
Be sure to include your game ID and/or login ID with the email and a good explanation of the problem as you see it.
We cannot see your computer screen and rely on you to give us as much information as possible about it so we can try to help.

What Settings do you use?
Also, make sure you got the latest drivers.
You can try to get it to work following the same steps as i described for WW2fanatic.
-
The Radeon 8500 works fine with the game. It is what I have in my office computer. Make sure you are using the Catalyst 4.12 drivers with it though.
Set the "Maximum Texture Size" to 256 as well.

Got it working , thanks for the help.
