If somebody else is in a plane with gunners, is it possible to join their plane to act as a gunner?

No....
In a formation or anyother plane, you can only have 1 person join you...

YES



You must be on the same country as them and you can't be flying or driving at the time you send your join request.

To send a join request, just type ".join NAME"  with out the quatations and replace the word "name" with the players actual game ID.

Can only have up to 1 pilot and if gunners are available, only 1 gunner.   A pilot can only accept 1 more person to join his plane(s).  A gunner can not accept any join requests.
