Title: Suggestion for semi noobs like me
Post by: Dichotomy on October 10, 2006, 02:40:58 PM
If you've been flying for a couple of months and feel like you've hit a wall go back to netaces.org and reread the stuff you've (hopefully) read before.  Some of the stuff there that you didn't understand and probably forgot by now will make a LOT more sense.   It's dead at work today so I was reading there and had a lot of 'oh ya I need to remember that' moments.  Hopefully it translates into my flying.

It will. Don't be afraid to jump into the TA for an hour or two to put that stuff to the test in a controllable environment. It'll make even more sense after you've done that.

also while your in the TA get some of the newer cadets to follow you and play target practice on you while you are trying to do evasive manuvers on them.this not only helps them with gunnery but helps you with evasives.practice flying around looking out of the back of the plane, only for when you are doing evasives you have to be able to do that and not run into objectsat the same time for it to be successful.

Not really.  Just go in the DA or TA and fight for an hour (with someone better than you).  You'd be surprised how easy it is to get good in this game.

And it never hurts to record these flights in the TA then go back and watch then from the ext. view you can see what you might be doing wrong and what he might be doing right..:aok

That works, but really, keep it simple.  Ask the guy that killed you what you did wrong and he will be able to tell you.  Most of the kills I get are due to something they did wrong and not something I did right.  Ask after every death, do it for an hour a day for 3 to 5 days, and you will be playing a new game after that.
