i need help on how to use the gun on a tank because i always miss:(

Practice makes perfect.
I mainly play AH for the A2A stuff but when i do get in a tank i've learnt to be a pretty good shot.
Make sure you have the correct rounds AP(armour piercing) for enemy tanks. Use your [ ] keys to zoom in and out in the turret hit Z also.
Get the best zoom for the range your firing at.
if your gettin lower Frame rates while zoomed in take your graphics down.
best run ive done in a tank was 49 kills and im no GV dweeb :)
anyone can camp. make use of your surroundings hills trees etc.

Bruv is so right.
Practice, practice, practice.
After a while you will find that you can judge pretty close the distance away of your taget.
I'm by no means a GV'er either, and its taken me alot of offline practice, but if needed i can shut down a small airfeild with a t34, or really make life difficult at med and large feilds. As for gv vs gv ... I really dont have the patience to sit and camp, and I still am a lousy shot on the run.( need to practice more myself:D)
also, HE for buildings, hangers, ect
AP for other GV's
Oh , and I'll pass on the best advice I've received
Have FUN!!!

Basically it's what everyone has said, the more ya practise the better you get.
Learn each vehicle's strong points and weaknesses, ie. Tiger strong in front -- weak from rear; ammo when and where to use, HE as stated good for taking down buildings............ also good for tracking Tiger and other armor, kills LVT's, Osti's, M-3's, Jeeps........better than AP. HE real good for camping a runway taking out AC.
Most ur vehicle info available, and there for the reading.
Good luck

A few tips from somone who doesn't do much tanking:
Range your target by fist guessing at the range and fire one round. Watch where it hits, adjust your aim and fire again until you hit.
Zoom in. Use F8 and cursor down key adjust your view lower so you can zoom in on something at a far distance.
When you fire, the tank will rock or move, so you need to remember where you were aiming. I put my finger on the monitor right below the target so I can save that point and re-adjust from there. You can also use your cursor if you don't like fingerprints on your monitor :)
