Title: Range and Bearing Ruler on Clipboard
Post by: Stoney74 on October 14, 2006, 02:16:24 PM
How about adding some sort of range and bearing tool on the clipboard map.  It could be as simple as click one spot, and drag a cursor to another spot, and the display would tell you the range and bearing to the cursor?  I know the mission planner has some of this functionality, but it would be nice to have it available from the cockpit.

Waypoints!  I want waypoints!  Range and bearing, time to next, fuel to next, and a searchable database of frequencies and instrument approaches!

Nah, don't want a Garmin 430.  Just thought it'd be nice to look at the map and figure out exact distances and bearings (like you'd be able to do in real life with a plotter on a chart).

Use your built in zero error E6B and voila...you got it.
