Ok last night Elstevie and I were in the MA and we started up Roger Wilco. When I said something to him I was hearing myself. I guess you could call it an echo. Anyway, I asked him what he did to his system and he said he updated his sound card drivers. He has a allegro sound card. Not sure on the model though. Anyway, I told him to turn his speakers down but he had headphones on so I knew it wasn't that. Then we played around with his windows sound setting for the mic. Tried everything and still I was hearing myself. Now one thing I want to note. I only heard myself when he had it on Voice Activation. When he uses a key to talk I can't hear myself unless he has his mic keyed when I say something.
Now like I said he updated his drivers a few days ago and we used RW since then with no problems until last night. Do you have any idea what the problem could be? Man it's really annoying to hear my whining voice. Very distracting...lol.
Thanks for the help ahead of time. =D

From my experience, an echo indicates that someone has their mic 'open'...either depressing the talk key while listening, or voice activated with back ground noise filtering thru causing the echo's.

That's possibility because I was on my way to A1 last night and this godforsaken noise went screaming into my headphones. It was Elstevie starting his plane engine. He's getting alot of feedback too when he's not in Aces High. I guess I'm confused though becuase he says he has his headphones on. He tried both his mics and they both did the same thing with the echo and feedback.
Pretty strange eh?

Have him use the DEL key rather than T key for mic, and don't use voice activated. That may clear up your probs. Don't forget to re-map the key in AH to DEL as well as the RW FE.

What's the FE mean for the RW part? You guys and your arconyms...lol

By FE he means "front end", he's saying to map the talk key in both Aces High, and in Roger Wilco to the same key. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Hehehe, Rip's in the Softare business like me, so acronyms are a language we speak. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
