Yoshimbo, hint, reduce the "alpha" setting when you use the "Make Map" option. I looked at your bitmap, the alpha is INCREDIBLY increased. I'll still make it for you, just mentioning it.
-
Here are the files:
http://603sqdrn.collectivelyspaced.com/pearl.zip
You will need to replace all your original files with these, I didn't change anyting except the bitmap, but it's better to be safe than to be sorry.
Also, why are you placing "Vehicle Spawns" in the water?:huh
-
those spawns are fer teh PT boats/lvts
also, note:
for sum unexplained reason, the map just went to hell, idk why, i must fix it, i mean it's real bad, i have no clue how or why.
it was playing fine over LAN, but then i host it, and pppt, it goes to ****.
tx for the map man, tx alot.
also you said that my alpha was waaay high, and that's why i couldn't see the terrain?
-
1. I saw no PT Spawns, only GV spawns
2. Yes, your alpha is WAY too high. If you look really closely after taking a snapshot you can see the coordinate numbers, yet you can see nothing else. It seems everything else is not visible because of a blue "glow", this is due to a high alpha value. Lower the alpha and you will finally begin to see your terrain.
-
ah, i see
tx for tip
i will begin experimentation to discover an ideal alpha value
-
My tutorial mentions the perfect values.
-
hmmm, i must of missed it.
well, that saved me sum time 4 sure.
btw, i should have a few other maps (these have clipboard maps, cutsom made in MS Paint, they r bit little silly though) hosted by wednesday nite
would've had up now, but in my infinte 'tardedness, i didn't send 'em over to my laptop:furious
-
No worries, your insisting on perfection will make you a GREAT terrain editor. Can't look at any of them right now, USRanger and I are working on a special project.:aok
-
3 new maps will be hosted within the hour.
Be advised, the clip-maps are rather silly, why? idk, i just went into paint, made em' and realized that they where boring, so, i decided to jazz'em up a bit, just cuz.
1st one is called "yup" i had no idea what to name it, so i just wrote "yup" and it stayed. This, unlike the other two maps, is a FFA map, each base is at 5k and has an airspawn at 10k facing you towards the middle, (where the fight, in theory, will be) in the middle i have sum rather large mountain like things, so that there's more than just empty space to fight in.
2nd one is called "Teems". Guess what kinda map it is.
-has 3 bases (3 for bish, 3 for knit) and is pretty straight foward, each base (medium airfiled) is on it's own island. and each island has a town for the base's map room, and a port, less one of the bases (on each side) the bases in the middle has a factory, instead of a port. also, each base has one 5k airspawn facing towards the emy, and at the last, each side has one TG.
so plenty of stuff to blow up.
3rd one is called "skyHigh" again, simple and straight foward, you got 3 on 3 bases, small airfields, each with one airspawn for both fighters AND bombers, at not 5k, not 10k, but at 25,000 feet, thus the name. i had the idea of having hi alt fights since these seem to be rather rare, but you can still up from the ground if you so wish it. also each side has one TG, double the size of your ordinary TG. (lots of AA fire, but far from being impossible, instead quite fun)

Sounds nice Yoshimbo.
