A mock-up of a plane crash is displayed as part of a Halloween display in the garden of a home in Los Angeles October 20, 2006. Los Angeles police visited the scene after thinking the crash was real. The homeowner is an aircraft mechanic in training and the parts are from a real Gulfstream jet. REUTERS/Lucy Nicholson (UNITED STATES)

Excellent!  Whenever the police show up, you know you've got a winner.  That's a criteria I've met with some of my projects, and it's a good feeling.

Morbid?  Huh?

How hard could that be? Get a life-sized, realistic-looking dummy, put him in a pool of fake blood on your doorstep, or hang him from a tree. Viola, police show up.

Not so much near Halloween.  You really gotta go the extra step these days.

I fondly remember them screaming in after I was firing 40 foot tall fireballs into the air in Culver City.

That's the brilliance of the plane crash, nobody expects someone to actually go to that effort.  Anyone can make a dummy w/ blood.  But not just ANYONE can park pieces of a Gulfstream on their lawn.

I think it helps that his property looked like a disaster even before he scattered the aircraft fragments.
