My computer is set up at 640x480. Since my eye sight sucks, it's something I've grown to prefer.
Does the game change these settings when I play?
Would I *see* (Hey! I made a pun! nyuk nyuk) some benefit, game wise, to change to 800 or 1024?
Would this help me read gauges better, etc? I'm currently having a problem with that. Especially when the gauges are located in different places depending on the plane.
Should I just find a better eye doc?
:D
Thanks for the read, LeadPump

I have played in 640x480,800x600,and 1024x(woteva it is) and have noticed the following:
640x480-lower dial quality and hard to read text on notebook-good framerate
800x600-Ideal for me-no change in framefate-text on notebook is ledgible
1024-lower frame rate (depends on ur pc)
generally speaking tho,its not like on the desktop where lower res means bigger,
theres some difference but not enuf to be bothered about,
Id stick to 800x600 if u have small(ish) moniter
1024 if pc is ok with it and moniter is bigger

1 other thing,if u set a stick button to toggle Zoom u could go nose to the dial and back again dead quick-hope it helps

As long as you're not loosing too many frame rates higher res is going to be easier to see. It's not like the desktop where higher res = everything's smaller, instead higher res = much more detail (crisper, clearer).

In Aces you may actually get higher framerates running at 1024x768, than by running at 800x600.

Actually the things get bigger up to 1280 res, then the text stays the same size at 1600x1200.
Try the higher res, I think you will find it better actually.
