Title: Turn tables for the Computer?
Post by: Vudak on October 22, 2006, 08:30:30 PM
Hey all...

Ok, so I have no DJ talent at all, and no turn tables to do what I want to do manually anyway...

But, basically I want to mix one song into another.  I've heard a really cool DJ mix that brings some Eminem into a trance song, but I can't find it anywhere for download.

What I'd like to do is find a program that basically let's you mix a song like on turn tables, but easier and digitally and without talent required.

My only sound mixing experience is of years ago and that was with Goldwave...  Thinking about it, that'd probably work, but I was wondering if any of you ever did this sort of thing and had better suggestions?

Thanks,

Try Adobe Audition.  Used to be CoolEdit, but Adobe bought it out.

128 track mixing ability.  Various digital effects.  Burn to CD directly.  All in all, not a bad program.  Supports a couple of plug-in formats, so it extensible.

Not as good as Steinberg's products, but not nearly as pricey either.

Try Audacity its good for chopping up soundfiles and changing attributes such as tempo, pitch, etc.

Thanks guys...

Well that Audition looks a bit pricey but OTOH also looks like something that could keep me occupied for awhile learning some new tricks I'll probably never apply in professional life :D

I might have to pick up a copy soon. :aok
