Say you drop troops to a map room. Two are killed before they make it in. Are the other 8 still viable? Would two more troops take the map room? How long would the 8 troops last?
If someone shoots into the map room will it kill the eight inside?

I think the troops last until a building pops or the first ai ack pops

No. Think of the troops as "hitting" and object. Once they "hit", they are no longer there to destroy.
I'm sure if I am wrong on any of the above, someone smarter will correct me. :aok

I'm thinking E2 is correct!:aok

in a situation where the town is still flat however, the eight troops that got in can be nullified by dropping friendly troops in the maproom, i.e the friendly troops kill the enemy troops if this occurs, necessitating another full complement of ten enemy troops to capture the base.

From what I remember -
If 8 troops (or less than 10) make it in, you have 5 mins from the 1st troop going in to get 2 (or whatever is needed) more in, after 5 mins it resets to 10.

well 10 troops are an overbalanceing factor... so rather than bring in a HORDE of 10 troops in a goon, bring in one or two at a time in a gv so they can duke it out one V one.

This reminds me of the time when I was still flying for Rooks and troops could walk on water. Either the Bish or Knits( can't remember which) was trying capture a base just off shore with LVT's. There had to be over 100 troops running every where.

i remember fighting against something like that (im knit or bish) the game almost crashed...
hell it used to be a bug in AHI where too many troops would kill the server, and after HT released a patch to fixed it, my squad dropped as many troops as we could after a reset to see if it was true... and it was... i think we had something like 200 troops out, looked like the 101st/82nd on D-Day :lol server held out well HT :aok
