Title: how about..
Post by: B@tfinkV on October 23, 2006, 03:46:37 PM
..an option for auto damage report. culd be toggled on/off

when you take damage the damage report hud would light up the damged plane part on the list for a second.

the whole list need not be shown, just the single line of text 'right elev'.

not sure if i would use it or not, just wondering to get some feed back from anyone about the idea.

I also wondered if we could have auto icons off at a certain range.

IE: type      .icons E 200  where E = enemy icons

at 200 yrds or less the enemy icons would vanish.  might be good for those of us who like the immersion.

How about the text buffer?

System: You have lost left aileron
System: You have lost left flap
System: You have lost left wing tip
System: You have lost left wing
System: You are a seriously screwed monkey.

If it was historically accurate... that would be cool.

Otherwise...even the text based list is generous. If there was no warning in wwII, we should have to figure out what is wrong with the plane and make a call on whether or not to bail or try to make it home

- No information on the icon till with in 1k

Instead, I would like no damage at all!

Text buffer isn't that pleasing. They had that in WB, if I recall. I'd rather have it as Bat describes, but definitely optional.

Yep, otherwise, you could miss the message that your wing is shot off, and won't even know it!
