imagine you fly for 30 minutes and are about to land 9 kills. boy that's fun isn't it. try doing it with a pilot wound. i swear i fly all the way back to base. about to get a 9 kill sortie and my freaking plane blows up. going to land 9 dam kills and right when I'm about 20 yards off runway the plane blows up from a pilot wound. really makes me mad. if you could please change this or something that would be great cause this is ridiculous. its very frustrating.
has this happened to anyone before?

you gotta watch for the signs. Blackouts will get more and more frequent right before you die. When that starts to happen, all you can do is ditch or land ASAP. If your more than just a few k away from your runway, you will most likely die. Ditch it instead.

Roger that. Every time I limp one back with a pilot wound, I black out on short final. Never fails. Roll the dice or punch out.

This has never happened to me... I have never landed nine kills... I get shot down going for the tenth vulch :lol

I have to agree on that one. Funny when you come to think of it... every time I have a PW and Im about to land I black out. It seems to be the exact same thing every time.. usually get a ditch outta my efforts :(

Ok here's the crack, the inside info, the way outta it, the "what to do".
If you are pilot wonded over an enemy base some 25 miles from your own you have just 2 choices 1) live or 2) die.
1) You must RTB then and there. No arsing about for another kill you ain't got time. YOU HAVE NO TIME TO SPARE AT THAT RANGE. If you have any "WEP" you best wep the tits off that plane. No arsing about on approach final. Get over you base as fast as possible and ditch speed as fast as possible. Now think about lining up. You want your speed 150 or less. Expect a black out and get ready to auto and 25% throttle. Land it if you can but if you do black out you will awake over the runway and at landing speed.
2) Game the game you have no shame it is after all a "cartoon" plane.

actually the flight model is wrong. The plane should not blow up because you bled to death. you should see a black screen the whole time it takes the plane to fall out of the sky.
or since you probably hit auto pilot when you saw you were blacking out you should see the black screen "of death" the whole time the plane flies until it hits something like a mountain or runs out of fuel and crashes. As you are dead you cannot bail out or end flight so you are stuck with the black screen until Mother Nature and/or Father Physics runs the course.
A concession would be a flashing message that says "You are dead and St. Peter is considering your worthiness."
Dead is dead right?

HT should program it so when you black out for the last time your vurtual life passes across the screen...

If only you would have rtb'd after the 8th kill, he could have died a hero, in the ER of course.
But all the "wtg's and nice job's", would have meant nothing because that pilot would have already passed on. Only the new pilot, in his new plane would see those messages, and unless he had a weejee board, the pilot that landed those 8 kills would still have no idea how greatly appreciated his efforts were.
It truly is a shame. Greed is a sin, especially when a make believe pilot's life is on the line. I mean jeeze, you let him bleed to death! For Shame!

No, but I had situations (several) where I was about to land 2 killz in an LA7 and had to slow down running from a C202 so I could land them killz, and as I got slow, the 202 closed in, did not die in the ack, and removed one of my wings with a short 10 second burst, I hit the runway, and my plane blew up.
That is complete BS and I wish HT could fix it so that if you have more than 1 killz to land, no one can kill you if you are in friendly ack.
Has this happened to anyone before?

immersion in the game can cause frustrating moments like this you have described! I found a field last week that was covered in gv's and had about 7-10 enemy in planes defending. I saw that about 12 fellow green were attacking so next sortie I brought a CHOG and started to rope til my hearts content. Eventually there was no need for a rope as the 3 ponies and 1 jug pilots had little if no reversals. So just pick and pick until finally an enemy la7 showed up with alt. I reversed him and he ran in a big fashion, 3 greens kept chasing him and I heard one say la7 down. I kept killing the innocent non reversal guys as they seemed only interested in pulling straight up for the first con they saw! The la7 came back again with alt and I reversed him again and he ran again with two or three greens on him and they went out of sight. One green was caught on the deck in one of the "holes"/ valleys beside the field and I dove in and cleared him by shooting my 32nd kill down. Yup, 32 kills, 140 cannons left, and 1/4 tank of fuel. Suddenly I see a tracer and look back to see the la7 followed by 5 greens and he was 200 out! He got my wing tip but I was too close to ground to save plane and crashed and died! No chk 6 or, "hey!, la7 coming back through" just total silence as they splashed him right after I went in. You got to take those moments and just laugh it off.........right after you curse the Gods!:aok

I can answer "no" to this question cause I don't fly LA7's.
I still say HT should have your virtual life pass before your eyes/across the sceen. Then you would get to see all those hookers from the Pacific theater again, the drunkin brawls in London, sheep in ..... uh, perhaps this isn't such a great idea after all?? Sheep are liars...
So, Bugs, nope never gottin 2 kills in LA7, uuh, what was the question again?
