We, the Finnish community in Aces High, have been very worried about the recent
changes which had been made to the arena format. The changes have brought
before us difficulties which we see as threatening to the unity of our
community.
There has been a lot of discussion about this on public forums and some of us
have presented our concern in a questionable manner. We have noticed that the
discussion about the arena format and future of Aces High has also
affected negatively to our general attitude towards Aces High. Thus we have
decided to refrain from publicly criticising the current arena issue.
We hope that HTC keeps in mind the needs and concerns of the player community
and will make the right decisions. From now on we, the Finnish community, will
put all of our energy to strengthening our community, and we wish everybody
will give HTC the necessary space to solve the problems and come up with
solutions that will be best for the future of the game and the communities that
exist because of, and for, Aces High.
On behalf of the Finnish Aces High community,
CO, Flight Regiment 3

Good bunch.
I remember fondly during a Thur. SnapShot several Fin's were teaching me how to say mean and insulting things in their native language.
(though in hindsight I bet they were teaching me how to say mean and insluting things about myself. I can just picture them giggling as they hear Lute say things like "i'm a pretty girl" on range vox)

Sloehand could it be that you were breaking the DA netiquette by intervening the combat between squad members? Because that's the only scenario I can fathom where you'd get that treatment from the whole squad. And for sure you were asked to stop it before being vulched to ground.

LeR3-and, the rest of the Finnish community:
I don't wish to spoil a noble deed, but there is one thing that is overlooked, and that was best stated by the English philosopher Edmund Burke: "All that is necessary for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing."
I've always had the utmost respect for all of the Finnish airmen in the game; It seems that the best sticks come from europe. But, as such, their voice is also most respected, and to silence it will deprive HTC of one of the tools that they use to improve the game that we all enjoy.
I applaud your statements for the show of unity; But I beg you all to consider the dangers of silence, as it may be.
Respectfully yours,
-FrodeMkIII
(P.S. This is not intended to be a pun against HTC's little saying at the bottom of the opening screen, that goes "The Evil Within". Pure accident.)

Sorry, I didn't say any of the Finns say their "voice" was being silenced. What was said was that their position and concerns had been voiced and they would no longer "harp" on the subject. Big difference.

CC, NB. The thing I was trying to state was, If we ignore a problem, it won't go away. You have to fix your car if you want to drive it. The gist of my argument is, is that we have to keep working, No matter what, If we want things to succeed.

Umm, aren't finnish women supposed to be goddesses? What are you guys doing on a GAME!? Shouldn't you be paying attention to more important things? Of course, I could be wrong about the women. In any event,

No, they all have huge feet, unibrows and braided armpit hair.
Guess it depends on your definition of 'goddess'.

OK, I've got a couple of things to say, so I'll start with the most important.
My apologies to all the Finns who play AH, including those of Lentolaivue 32. I should not have interjected what was a personal incident into the thread. It had nothing to do with the topic and was most certainly bad manners. And quite frankly, as true, though transplanted Southerner, I am all about good manners and proper courtesy.
Please understand I'm not recanting what I claimed happened or my anger over it, just that it had no place in the conversation, and it thoughtlessly and inapproprately shed a bad light on the whole Finnish community.
I have voiced this apology to Mipoikel in a private email, but I think it only proper I say it to all the Finns and the whole AH community.
That having been said, as for me provoking such an incident, as at least one person has suggested, anyone who was ever in the DA with me before it was neutered, will remember I always championed proper dueling manners. I never, ever jumped into an ongoing fight. It simply would not occur to me to do so. And for the first 4-6 weeks I spent as a newbie, I so determined not to break any rules or anger someone inadvertantly, that I spent much of the time flying high over the base, watching the duels below. Further more, on the night in question, I didn't even have a chance to do anything wrong as I never stayed off the ground for more than 15 seconds from the moment I got into the DA.
But enough of that. It should be obvious that anything I can remember this long with such anger was significant and important, at least to me. It was the height of discourtesy in my mind at the time.
However, my current faux pas has shown just how angry over it I was and that holding that anger is not a good thing. Therefore, I'm going to try and forget it, get over it, and go on.
So again to the community as a whole I apologize for ever bringing it up. To the members of Lentolaivue 32, I will fight you and respect your skill from now on, without rememberance of the past, as best I can.

To the Finnish Lads and to the members of Lentolaivue 32. I remember our days in AH I of the old CT (axis/allies arena). It was fun to do cooperative missions with you all and I remember several times getting my butt pulled out of the fire by these guys. My utmost respect to you all and to your stance on the matters at hand. Thanks Guys<
