I keep losing my connection to my ISP shortly after entry into the arena. Seems I can surf the web without getting discoed, but within seconds of getting into the AH arena - byebye.
I tried lowering max hookup speed to 19600...same thing.
Is it just my machine (wouldn't surprize me), or does anybody else have this problem?

Sounds like a problem I have. Might be a stupid question but what is ADSL and where can I get it?

I have been having the SAME problem......last 7 sorties have resulted in 5 discoes.......am totally in the dark about tracing routes and all that.
What is ASDL anyway?

This is the service I signed up for, but there are many of them all over the world. You have to be geographically close to the company's equipment to be able to use it.
You need a special modem. Your connection is over the phone line, but you are always connected. The phone line can be used for calls even though you are online. Very fast down loads, up to 50x faster than a 56k modem. Also, surfing is much better because pages load in a snap. My Aces High connect is great. I just got a traceroute proggy, not real familure with it, but it showed 12 hops to Hitech, with 36 mls? (forgot what units) being the longest.
