how did aces high start? did hitech go to another flight sim and say yo i got this game dude...ah..check it out. someone was like thats teh pwn im in and everyone joined? just curious how he got people in and signed up...

Well HT did create WB in between and when the management started to suck in WB he created AH I. People who knew the creator of WB can't do wrong tried AH and have since been HT's crackwh*res. :D

GE isn't to far off. As to the creation of WB and I.C.I.

But how AH started,

Left IEN in november of 98 do to a bad dissision made a 2nd time by Wild Bill.  (Had to do with Fighter Ops) Pyro decided to quit the same day also.
BTW Those bad discissions is what has alowed us to take over the online flight sim market.

Had no idea what I wanted to do next, so took a 3 day break.

Had always wanted to try create a 3d interface so on monday I started laying the gui frame work that is now the clip board.

Got that frame work running pyro and still trying to figure out what we wanted to do next. Ended up saying well hey, you got any better idea then another flight sim.

6 months later I have frame work complete for AH , and I incorperate HiTech Creations and higher Pyro,Natedog,Superfly, Yankie and Ronni.

July 99 launch web sight anouncing AH.

Sept 99 launch the beta of AH.

Jan 2000 release AH 1.0 and start to charge for it.

Frankly, the humor in labeling thousands of people 'crackwh*res' because they enjoy a game is beyond me... thank God.

I guess I have a bit more vocabulary to draw on, and tis easier to draw a chuckle from those I regard as 'friends' by the use thereof.

I don't want to know what a real belly laugh for you is.

Now THIS is how I remember it:D   HT asked for some AW code to do skins they said "beat it kid you bother us" .   HT does Warbirds (originally called confirmed kill), and then sells it to Wildbill, has a falling out with Wildbill and AH is born.

I am not sure HT but weren't you still living in Grand Rapids, Mich during AW days???

As for customer base this community is very small by comparision to say WOW or Everquest, and most of the guys went from AW to the others and just followed the crowd around.  

Some of us have come and gone and come back again :aok
