.....is no different than being in a fighter and bailing out when you see an enemy plane approaching.
I love playing with bombers. Esp. with piles of E. Take off a few pieces on the way though the formation, loop around and do it again. I did this to several sets today and each one augered in shortly after bomb release. Funny thing is it was the same guy over and over and over. Crediting me with the kills each time they did it.
I'm not going to pimp him/her out and mention any names, but I checked their stats and the number of deaths was dang close to the number of sorties. This isn't the first person I seen doing this either.
Sometimes they get me, sometimes I get them....it's all fun. It's no fun to see someone give up point the nose toward the ground.
I fly fighters 95% of the time. I've been in situations where I knew the person fighting against me was more skilled and I've made mistakes that I knew were going to end in me getting smoked, but I'll be dammed if I'm gonna just bail out.
Stand and fight!
What can be done to stop such suicidal nonsense?

Very little.

Hooker ya don't have to say who, there's only a very few that game the game in this manner, and we all know who, lol. When "He" flys his ole B-17's in I try to look at it as "Kewl, easy kills".
Is it lame, ya pretty much so. Your arguement is an old one, with no resolve in the forseeable future. We all know (big) bombers aren't "Dive Bombers", and yet are used as such.
Solutions?? Well HTC has been trying to come up with answers for a long, long, time now. Personnally I'd be greatful for a minimum alt. requirement, ie. anything lower than 1K, bombs will not arm. This would apply only to large bombers (4 engine). Smaller, faster bombers are historically know to do NOE raids, drop low, etc.
When's the last time you studied a bomb raid over Europe, using B-24's, B-17's, or Lanc's, and the bombing group(s) came in NOE, not to mention used there bomber's as "Dive Bombers" :rofl.
Oh well, same old story, same ole soap box. Have some faith Hooker, I have much confidence HTC will solve the "Dive Bombing Buff" issues, along with the other 10 K wants and wishes (lol). :aok

Yeah I know what your talkin about and LTARokit has it about right... For me when I fly bombers part of the fun is trying to haul your slow *** bird back out of harms way hoping to shoot a few cons on the way out. :)

Almost rhymes with "Shortbus". ;)

Hehehe flying bombers is the only time I've been accused of cheating. Had a formation of B-24's at 20K, dropped the FH's at a field we were trying to capture and had a lone con low behind me. I saw he was trying to climb up and catch me so I chopped the throttle. He got within icon range and I saw it was a Spit 16 closing in on me. He got co-alt and started to close the range so I throttled up to max power again. When I did that the rate of closer became almost 0 for a couple of minutes. When he stated closing in again I started a turn and chopped the throttle again and sucked him within 1.5k in seconds. When he hit 1K I leveled off and fired a couple of bursts that took his wing off. Once he bailed he PM'd me and accused me of pulling the cord because he thought I was warping. When I told him what I had really done his reply was, "Oh I never thought of that." I was laughing.:D

"Pork & Auger" has been around since Air Warrior...
At least now in the EW arena, if you want to pork and auger in Lanc's, you have to pay 100 perkies per plane for the dishonor.
Outside of perking, there is no solution. Just make sure you get in close enough to get the proxy kill ;)
If they are so inclined...let 'em do it. It kind of shows what kind of player thay are, doesn't it?
Respectfully,

CC on that John & Dace, wasn't aware of the Ploesti Raid in 1943. Thanks for the tip, I can always appreciate History. There were indeed low level bombing missions during WWII. Even the Ploesti Raid pilots complained they didn't want the mission to go NOE (for obvious reasons). Though the raid was considered sucessful by going NOE, losses where quite high.
There where also other low level bombing missions, some good, most bad, regarding losses. However I do underscore the word "Level"; level bombing verses "dive bombing buffs". One takes some skill, the other just takes a joystick :aok
I personnally don't have a problem with anyone level bombing, whether it's high or low. Dive bombing buffs, he he, like I said before........move out of the way and collect the free kills :rofl

It wasn't repeated because of the lose rate. It was slaughter.
HTC shoulda ...dunno if "coulda" coded bomb drops from the F6 position only. Lotsa posts about this topic. Lotsa requests to code F6 only or bomb jams if release not level.
What we got was easy style laser calibration. Gamey players still don't use it. I say put bomber calibration back to the older way. Bring back "pickle" and "dot delay". Not salvo 1 delay 0.05 laser in from 30k.

My most favorite memory of flying my beautiful B17s was back in Kadesh. Took a couple of hours to get to the target. After we dropped it and returned home the remaining B17s went to a oil field and bombed it to pieces. All you could see was a huge black cloud. Dosnt seem all that exciting to others. But it was fun to fly with my entire squad at once.

Yes, they accidentally raided a pickle factory...it was tragic. :(

Hmm... must be the 50ft alt "bomb and ditch" of Fortress of whom you speak:aok

There was a reason they only did it once :)
