I saw a program on tv a few days ago on the French Foreign legion. I believe it was on the military channel. Anyways, the show did not provide much on the history of the legion outside of their form of bootcamp. Can anyone point me in the direction of a book that shows the deeds of the legion? Also, anyone have a good stories offhand of their deeds in WWII?
Thankyou kindly.

"March or Die" Read it years ago, don't know if it is available any more. If I can find it I'll post the ISBN number.
Has nothing to do with the Gene Hackman movie. ;)

One of the guys I went to OCC with has been a legionere for a few years. Havent spoken with him at all, but I met his parents at a function and they told me. They almost never get to see or speak with him either. Cod knows where he is in the world, and im glad im not in his boots.

There isn't really much history to tell that'll amaze you, besides a relatively small number of engagements. Find a legionnaire that'll agree to tell you "stories", though, and you might wish you hadn't asked.

Np. I actually read it in a book, not-so-ironically called "Last Stands". Devils of Camerone, the Alamo, the defense of Wake, the Admin Box, Sidi Nsir, British territorial regiments in Korea (Royal Ulster Rifles? been awhile since I read it), and a bunch more.
Really good read.
