I prefer going to a polling place, but Oregon is entirely vote by mail.

I voted!
I must say, I get a good feeling looking around at the people waiting to vote ... different races, creeds, young, old.... its like Norman Rockwell Americana
-
Thats 3-0 to the republicans.
Or am i mistaken? :D
-
Make that 4-0
-
After today ill make a headcount and see what the % voted what here and how it ended up with the offline people.
Should be an intersting study into how the wargame/flightsim enthusiasts vote compared to the regular offline folks.
-
Nilsen, if you a C-47 over your house with lawyers parachuting out, that means that the Dems are not accepting your headcount :lol
-
Make it five Republicans........
And off subject, a blackhawk just flew over my house NOE...couldnt have been higher than 100 feet...don't know what he was doing (Sikorsky plant is within 3 miles of my house)...maybe he was rallying republicans to get out and vote????? If so, I guess I wished closer to lockheed or boeing lmao
-
I voted early two weekends ago. I love early voting, no lines, took about 5 minutes. and for anyone keeping track, my ballot
1 Independent, 2 Democrats, 8 Republicans.
-
5-0.. wow thats like a 50% lead!
:D
-
straight libertarian. If there was no independent option, I skipped it.
-
My wife and I voted early (last Thursday). Man, my family eas all over the place in the race for Gov: I voted Perry, my voted for Kinky, and our son (living in Austin amidst the Liberals) voted for Bell (liberal Dem.) So I guess that means we'll get "One Tough Grandma" for governor. :lol :cry :lol :cry
-
i voted.
:aok
-
Green Party here in Michigan. Granholm sucks eggs, DeVos is ex-Amway and useless. I'm a moderate anyway, so I'll be voting this way for awhile.
-
Make that 6, except for the Gubernatorial race.
-
Call it 7 now.
-
I voted:D
-
Wait a minute... Eagler never said who he voted for... buncha conclusion jumpers!
-
I voted
-
Just voted.
Don't forget which party wanted the military ballots to "not count" military voters!
-
Voted. And no, I didn't vote a straight ticket.
-
I did...
Scary thought isn't guys/gals....
But I didn't get a cookie... :(

Now THAT'S funny!!!!!
And actually, no. We had an amendment on the poll about outlawing gay marriage. And yes, I voted for the amendment that outlaws gay marriage.

So, you can't vote a straight ballot twice?
I don't get it?

I voted, oddly we had electronic vote machines last time with touch screens, this time we had a big card to fill out you put in a machine lol.
I wonder how much the county has wasted on all these stupid electoric voting machines.
-
Voting tonight.

I don't really know what you're asking.
I'll explain what I meant.
I did not vote a straight ticket. Meaning I did not vote straight Republican, straight Democrat, or straight Libertarian.
That was in response to Nilsen and his joke about the Republicans and the Democrats voting.
I voted for both Democrats and Republicans. Depending on what office was involved and who was running.
For example, in the relatively famous choice between Corker, the Republican, and Ford the Democrat, Corker was the lesser of two evils, as the Republicans didn't support the two better candidates, but Ford is truly scum of the worst possible kind, and a complete liar, his campaign positions diametrically oppose his actual voting record, and his family is as well known for corruption around here as the Daleys of Chicago are in Illinois.
However, in the local race I voted for the Democrat, because he does a decent job, and I was not impressed by the Republican.
And so on.

Probably Tens of millions of dollars. Buy 1,000 of em at barrel bottom prices, find out they are junk, and siphon the remaining balance into pockets, etc.
-
I voted.
-
just vote republican down the line and vote to quash two tax increasing amendments to the fl. constitution.
-
which two caused tax increases?
:huh
so far as i can tell, none of the six amemdments presented did that.
(there were however tax breaks for seniors and disabled vets on the table as two seperate issues)
-
amendment one's language left me with impression that they were looking for carte blanche ability to spend money on "non recurring expenses" and they wanted up to 3% of the total general fund without a vote by the general assembly. stuff like this eventually leads to tax increases.
amendment 4 was to basically take up 15% of the tobacco supplement payments to create another agency to "protect people, especially youth from addiction, disease and other health hazards of using tobacco" the last thing we ned is another nanny state agency which will need additional funding in the future which in my equals more taxation. while not directly increasing taxation at this time they could in the future. in dade county they were directly looking for funds in order to increase the the developement of the metrozoo. bzzzzzz sorry not from this voter.
in broward they were looking for a US$.01 increase in the sales tax but I'm registered in dade so I didn't get to poo poo that one, my daughters did though.

nope i didnt vote, no one here deserves my vote

then you deserve whatever government you get.
-
i took the first one as a good thing.
FOR
This amendment, would establish a Joint Budget Commission and would do what has not been done before - put both the budget and revenue estimates together in one document. In addition to the annual budget, it will also require the Commission to create a long-term financial outlook.
AGAINST
Current general law, which prescribes requirements for each department and agency of state government to submit a planning document and supporting budget request, is adequate and an additional task force is not needed.
What Your Vote Means:
YES
If approved by voters, Amendment #1 would establish a long-range budget-planning process, putting both budget and revenue estimates together in one document. It would create a Government Efficiency Task Force (appointed every four years by the Governor, Senate President and Speaker of the House) to seek input from the public, executive and judicial branches and create a long-range financial plan.
NO
If Amendment #1 is not approved by voters, the current laws as set by Section 19 of Article III of the State Constitution will remain in place as originally proposed by the Taxation and Budget Reform Commission and approved by the voters in 1992.
Financial Impact:
There is not a direct financial impact on state or local government.
-----
the tobacco one will take a portion of the big settlement that the states made with tobacco companies and appropriate a percentage of it towards educating minors about the dangers of smoking. (the arguement being that it will save costs of health care subsidies in the long run)
no taxes involved there.
whether or not THAT is a state responsibility is up to the voter...but it is not a tax based proposal.
anywho...
no new taxes this time around.
:aok
-
Voted yesterday to see who would get elected with uneducated teens voting. I think most of my votes were Democrats, maybe 1 Republican, and 1 Green party
I also voted to legalize marijuana in Colorado.
-
any vote to increase the size of the government in any way eventually leads to tax increases.
-
i exchanged for my vote for a beer & a big eggplant parm sub
-
I voted.

true. but in this case, the government had won a big chunk o change from demon tobacco and was simply appropriating the funds.
-
Was pleasantly surprised to see so many libertarian candidates.
Voted after waiting an hour in traffic because of road construction, election day should be a holiday. Finally got to the polling station and of course the election officials charged with overseeing the operation of the computerized push-button voting machines are all elderly citizens. So that took another hour.
After waiting for at least two minutes for the poor old lady holding my drivers license to find my name on the list of registered voters I finally just reached accross the table and pointed to my name.. on a different page.
-
Polls opened to me standing there.
Paper ballot, black marker, filled in the square.
Funny, now watching the news channels, and loving the desperation in some of the commentators voices. MSNBC is projecting wins back east, some pretty good margins of like 52 to 48, you'd think that would be close. Projecting Wins with -0- % reporting...
Geez these guys crack me up.
I'm involved in 2 campaigns here in Sacramento, there is no way on earth the outcomes can be projected with no precincts reporting, this is mind blowing that no one learned anything after Kerry popped the champagne cork 2 years ago.
-
danm right I VOTED !!!!
-
Voted!!
-
Libertarian or Independent when possible, otherwise I abstained.
I wanted to vote for Arnold, hes actually a cool guy with lots of guns (I worked security at his Brentwood home.. and OJ's to lol), but hes a member of a DC republican crime family, so F him.
As long as that stupid cigerette tax loses, ill be happy..

Just got back from the polls. Was the last one to vote in my precinct. Voted for mostly republican, but did not vote on the judges I had not researched...
-
I voted no on all the judges... I knew nothing about them because they didn't want us to know anything about em.
I think that if we all vote no on them every time that they will open up a little and tell us what they stand for.

Nono, you have to read the fine print. Far too many measures and propositions are noticing the "no" trend. What you will start seeing is a ballot measure structured like this. The Proponent of the Measure will ask for it to be defeated, so Measure J is a 200% Tax Increase on the Breathing Vote YES to oppose and NO to not oppose.
Most people will scroll down
Measure J
200% Tax Increase
NO
The politicians are counting on people not reading this stuff. It's more important than ever that everything is read.
-
Yep, we (My wife and I) voted, took sample ballots home and made the kids "vote" too (It lets them feel more like particapants)
Split the ballot with an axe. We have a Dem gov. with a clue.... actually lowered taxes last year, local state rep who does somthing ect ect ect.
Actually it looks like all the canidates are running for the middle here, hard to tell the diffrrence in position.

roc... I was speaking of the judges... it is allways yes to confirm and no to not confirm.
