Title: Just an Idea (Plz don't hurt me :( )
Post by: VooWho on November 07, 2006, 10:03:33 AM
Had this Idea. Okay here it is. I am a H2H player (the guys that play for free) I was thinking since many of us don't have 2 weeks free trial to get a good taste of AH online, I thought maybe once a year or twice a year HTC opens a free 2 day trial for all H2H members to get a good taste of AH online before they think of either saying "Heck yes I'm getting a job to play 15 bucks", or "Heck no thats to crazy for me".

I know you guys won't agree with this, but maybe this would help HTC get a few more paying customers, and just to give us H2H a feel of online play with hundreds of players so we can say "Yes I want to subscribe", or "No I don't want to subscibe". I know we had our 2 weeks Free trial to see what it was like, but many of us (like me) didn't get to use your Free trial because we either had school, work, family problems, or went on vacation and by the time we got back and clicked on Online Play it said "You must subscribe". NOOOOOOOO!!!! This happend to me and I only got about 2 hour taste of online play.

This 2 day Free trial will be for those who aren't subscribe for online play, just to get 2 days of online play and see if their ready to pay the 15 bucks a month and play the best online game alive.

It's not a bad idea. Alot of games do the same thing. They'll reactivate all accounts, or hand out cd-keys, for a free week or weekend of play. Planetside, City of Heroes, Eve Online have all done it. No clue if it actually brought in more accounts, but I would guess they would've stopped the practice if it didn't work.

I think it would work here to. Alot of h2h players say I wish I had more time online to see if I would subscribe, but I can't.

Pretty neat that other games have done this, I'm suprised HTC hasn't.

I don't think HTC should.  As it stands now the H2H ers get the software for free.  Get Two weeks online for free and get free unlimited use of the BBS.  I think Acess II High BBS should be for paying members.

I think HTC should still use the two weeks online trial to attract new customers, but offer the H2H software for a onetime payment of I don't know , $14.99 and not give it away.

i think this sounds awesome!:aok

i only got a week and 1/3 of my 2 weeks, and 90% of that was me trying to learn the basics, nvr rly getting any good fights, always getting blasted out of the sky or spanked in a GV.

this would give me and any1 else in teh H2H a chance to chk out the MA again, see if it's worth it, also i hear of changes that have been made, this would make taking a another look even more important.

whatever happens i'm subscribing as soon as CT comes out

There are a great many never ending  2 weekers that play continiously for free in the Main Arena's.  I think hiTech should take credit card info from the 2 weekers and just not charge them untill they subcribe after 2 weeks so this abusive practice is stopped or at least slowed down.

That way he would also have a acurate database of home addresses that he could target via snail mail for advertising.

Just do a little research on the term "anonomous proxy server" and you will see how the perpetual 2 weekers beat the sytem today!!!

P.S.-  I am not bringing this up for more people to cheat the trial system, I am bringing it up so hopefully HTC will close the perpetual freebie hole!!!!!

Also alot of these perpetual 2 weekers are to blame for being the worst warpers because of the extra delay that anonymous proxy server routing causes.

.

This would eliminate a very large number of the people on the BBS. Most people who are staying on the BBS but not playing wish to continue to keep up on updates. Also, I doubt you will find many other places with such a large collection of knowledge on all topics. You ask any question of WWII here and you will receive not only all the information you wanted, but also a political debate on the topic. Ive learned a great deal on the BBS that I cant compare to any book.

Raider, unless you own the controling interest of High Tech Creations, Inc.  you can't predict or control what AH will do.  One of HiTech's stated reasons for the change to the arena and hopefully game play was to stop the loss of subscribers,  that's us paying customers; and hopefully retain a larger percentage of the two week trials.  What's the coast of giving away the H2H software and the bbs?

If the business is losing customer base and not generating revenu that can only translate into one thing, highter prices to the customer.

Man My post is starting to turn into shutting down H2H and BBS only for subscribers and someone posted something about proxys and hacking or something like that.

I just simply asked for a 2 day free trial for those in H2H who are looking forward to paying 15 bucks a month to play Online, but the only way most of us will join is if we get a tast of online play to experiance it and see if we want to subscribe. I'm not asking for extended time on 2 weeks free trial, or anything about proxys or something like that, I'm just asking for 2 days of free open trials for any H2H player looking forward to paying to play online.

Like I said many of us didn't get a good tast of online cuz we either sucked and getting take off, or we never got a chance to play it for 2 full weeks. I only got to play my 2 weeks free trial for 2 hours before I went on vacation. In AH1 when I first joined I never did get a 2 weeks free trial. I downloaded it started it up and clicked online then BOOM! Must subscribe.

Please stay on topic, and if you were, then I was just so confused. :)

by providing an enjoyable game.  by providing what they advertise.  I don't see how giving away the h2h software helps them retain paying customers?  You see the posts in the bbs all the time........ I don't pay to pay, I just use the H2H but I"d like to know if  ......

I'm just saying that many paying customers should get the perks.  The guy trying the game for two weeks will either become a subscriber or won't.  But the guy that just downloads the H2H is going to be using some of the services without paying his share.

when you first found AH, with all the downloads, didn't you first play for two weeks online at that time, when you originally found AH?

Nope I didn't get to play my free 2 weeks. I downloaded the game, Installed it, went this is supper cool, opend the game, hit Online then hit main arena and then it said MUST SUBSCRIBE TO PLAY!

The only time I did get to play MA was when I got a new PC and made a new account and I only got to play MA for 2 Total hours of my 2 weeks cuz I went on vacation. But I don't think you still understand the purpose of my post.
