First off, I have eluded the network channels most of the night and finally, I just wanted to watch Boston Legal (yeah yeah, shut your traps) so I tuned in. Instead of mindless entertainment, I am getting mindless news reporting (or is it creating).
We all know that the media is orgasmically undulating in the wings to announce a democratic win. I've been watching ABC and Charlie Gibson, who I swear has Fox-like twitching (onset of Parkinsens?) and I seriously want to stick my finger down my throat to expunge the crap they have been feeding the past 20 minutes.
Personally, I am registered to a certain party, but here I vote the people, the records and the issues. The thing that irks me is the media is turning me off more and more as the years pass by. I get sick watching ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CNN, MSNBC.....and hells, all of them. Is there anywhere left to go to get unbiased reporting?
As a slightly disillusioned youth exiting high school and entering college, I majored in journalism....and stayed with it long enough to know that wasn't my bag. Bah....tired of ranting......finding something worthwhile to damage my brain on.
//s// Sick of Spin (SoS)
P.S. What a way to waste my 500th post...ugh
P.S.S. Somehow I lost 8 posts...so I haven't wasted my 500th on mindlessness.

You're a few short of 500.
Anyway, I got tired of voting for the best we had. The best we had is not what we deserve.
Now I'm just waiting for the revolution. And hopefully it's two years closer if the democrats win.

No....
In the end:
The goverment controls the media
The media controls the people
The people elect officials similar to the ones currently in office who are controling the media.

BBC news helps balance it all out... Nice to watch a news program where the pundits aren't screaming at each other.
-
best way is to watch fox news for a while and then cnn for a while.
Figure that they are both tainting the news for their party.
I have found BBC to be highly slanted to the socialist. If you like socialism then the BBC will seem pretty fair and reasonable.

So, I guess now we're gonna see the Iraq mess cleaned up in short order? With power comes responsibility.

Hell no, the Dems will go into protectionism mode..."They screwed it up, our hands are tied..."
Victim mentality, that defines the party of the donkey.
-
Well, they have two years. If they can't win the war in that much time I reckon it's gonna hurt come the presidential election.

"Highly slanted", lol thats an understatement...
They practicly spoog when a left wing socialist commie gets elected to office... :rofl

Soda, that's how Charlie Gibson and George Stephawhateverhisnameis appeared last night. At least present yourself like you don't have a bias, but they don't even try anymore.
-
Yea, I think most of the pundits at Faux News do a good job at acting like they don't have a bias.

This is a bit odd. I see it the other way around in the last 20 years nowand has become more and more blatant in the last couple elections. The trend was innitially subtle but unmistakable, at least IMO.
The media controls the govt. (policy in particular)
The media controls the people (tells them what to think by selecting carefully the material and how it is "fed" to the people)
The people elect the govt. the media has selected for it's support and manipulation.

If the funding for further actions in the ME are cut by Congress, the return to a Viet Nam comparison will have traveled full circle. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

You've almost got it right. The same people control the government and the media, it isn't a media controls the government thing.
The same people that own the media buy politicians.
That is one reason why America is a "classless" society, because the media has convinced poor people they are "middle class". Both political parties buy into that, the Democrats occasionally need reconditioning (usually around important elections).

That is the platform on which they ran isn't it? Time for them to put up now, their chance to shut up has passed.

True, but words are one thing, actions another.
