We all know that the scoring system leaves alot to be desired and is usualy no idication of how good or bad some one is and HTC has made changes to offset people who have abused the scoring system in the past. Such as using b17's etc as fighters for base deffense, now when your using a bomber for it's intended purpose and you have to shoot down a fighter to stay alive, you don't get any points for it any more.
Here is my complaint:
People who have a low ranking in bombers usually have a very high bombing % of 12-15%. They get this by upping a single bomber like a Stuka with a single bomb and fly to a factory that is fairly safe from being intercepted by an enemy con and has a dozen or so structures extremely close to each other so that when they drop their bomb, they can get a dozen or so destroy messages. Other than upping a few goons for base capture, that's all they do. They don't bomb cities, hangers or cv's because to do so requires dropping multiple bombs just to get one destroy message, yet they are hailed and rewarded as top notch bombadiers. I classify myself as an expert bombadier because I can use the minimal amount of ordanance to drop a given structure, meaning that I use a delay of .05 and the minimum salvo as oppose to the carpet bombing technique, yet I can't come anywhere close to these guys ranking wise and I feel I'm being punished/ Handicapped because I play the game as oppose to just score whoring, trying to be a team player as opposed to, well, score whoring. So my recommendation is that the bombing% be restricted to 1.0 or 100%, you either destroy something or you don't. If you destroy 15 buildings with a single bomb, you get the points for destoying those structures but your % is only 1.0 not 15. The only people who attack factories are those trying to pad their scores. Noone attack factories for the strategic value anymore so why reward them for it. Reward people for being team players.

who cares about the scores?
you say they're score potatos, yet you want the score system changed so that you can be #1 ?
sorry, excuse me for being a bit confused. if i were you, i'd forget the stupid score stuff (it doesn't mean a THING and you get nothing for it) and keep doing what you like to do, 'team playing'

No, that's not it at all, I would like it changed so that people like Shawk can't be #1 for the sake of bombing factories and get his name in the papers for being such a master of the game, when he's not and while people who are a hell of a lot better than he is gets left in the dust, scratching their heads as to why they can't score any higher in the ranking. Of course if it were up to me I would scrap the whole ranking system all together and just keep the perk points but HTC would never do that.

You already have the option to ignore the score system without any detrimental effect (other than maybe not being able to write funny words with CV groups...)
Itīs everybodys own choice to fly for / respect score or not. If people who "are much better than SHAWK" are ranked lower than, then itīs because they most probably donīt care. They could (if really that much better) boost their rank with very little effort.

I actually like this idea, kinda a Keep what you kill thing. :)
Oh and I bomb factories for the strat effect but the problem is the actuall strat effect is so minimal that factories almost don't matter.

i have a hit percentage of 616%..... hardly never do that score padding way of upping a stuka and keep rearming it.... however it is a "fun" way of flying.... like with squadies etc.

i dunno.... fester once had almost the whole of knits helping him test the strat system to the max.....
we bombed cities down to low percentages (under 5%) then bombed there troops down to 5% then hit there HQ and porked troops everywhere
HQ down 2hours.
the HQ mission was one of the best missions i flew in... 30 bombers (b24 had just come out so EVERYONE wanted to fly it) and about 20 P47s/P51's once bombers reached target, all the fighters went down, vulched C47s and killed troops..... it was a classic show of team work, and "realistic" mission. I think we even had a group of P51's go ahead of bombers, to take out 163 field.
same for AAA etc..... bomb cities then bomb AAA factory, now Ack stays down 2-3hours instead of just 15minutes. It does work.... it just requires alot of effort/team work which is lacking in AH... but then, when people do do that, people whine how its griefing there game....hmmmm

I bomb troops strats. Not for score but to keep pesky barracks down longer.If I dont troops cant be porked long enough. I've seen teams really put the hurt on strats and keep things down a long time. As far as guys gaming the game, let them ,I see it as compensation. If that offends someone/anyone I dont know what to tell ya. Blow stuff up, take things from people, shoot guys down and not go to prison WOOHOO I'm there. I do love hearing a grown man cry,especially when I'm the cause.javascript:smilie(':t')

I understand how factories work but the problem is getting guys to pork fields while us bomber guys are making the long flight to the factories. Espetially with the new setup and smaller #'s.

yeah, but you dont want it too easy...... we get far to many whines out one person can take out one airfield (even if theres 20 others to use), so imagine if 2 or 3 couldl take out a whole country? :D It does have a noticeable effect.... any greater and there would be issues.
as ive said, my targets are city, followed by troops/radar or AAA.... my fellow knits attacking bases see the benifits when they dont have to kill the dar or AAA every 15minutes.... They may not realise the reason why its staying down it it is noticable.
Yesterday bish (115players) was owning in LWblue (i think it was blue) and rooks (40players) basically left instead of fighting(knits was cutt off from rooks for over 6hours apart fomr A4 which we DEFENDED from bish lol).
so some knits started the strat war.... the city and troops was down to 0% due to CV's being close, and i hit radar and AAA down to below 60%. we then took about 6 bases (v bases fell easy because AAA never reupped), and it also helped us defend alittle longer since troops stayed down ALOT longer less need for porking runs ment more time for base taking or cap.
it needs team work, and if you are in a squad with more than 3 players its possible to totally stall a front line advance in less than 2hours.
