I was looking at the new F4U cockpit (Very Nice) and I noticed that instead of the trim "sliders" that we are used to seeing we it has trim tab indicators. I am assuming that these function and that the same settings will be in 1 notch increments as flaps do now It would be a nice change from combat trim or trying to manually guess how many degrees up, down etc.
Also since the Supercharger handle is clearly visible will be able to manually shift stages? A little complex engine managment coming?? Maybe movable cowl flaps hint, hint?

hmmm now I have to look down to see how I am trimed out. Might have to remap some buttons so I can see them to adjust.

No need to look down.
Your 'slip gauge' (the stick and ball) and your climb/dive rate gauge are on the dash. If you are out of trim these indicators will tell you.

anyone know when or what alt the supercharger would change gears?

If I am triming for cornering speed or vertical work I like to see the tab position. I dont have any feed back on the controls.

There's an indicator on the dash that shows trim position.

Saxman is right,
Check it out. I don't think we have to worry about supercharger position yet but I hope we do shortly.
Look at the lower right side of the dash. WTG HTC!!

Anyone?? ;) 0-7500ft for low??? 7500ft+ for high or what? Pretty please :D

zorstorer,
I believe it is aircraft dependant. The P-51D for instance has automatic blower control so you wouldn't have to worry about at all there.
In the F4U however you would be in Neutral until about 5K and then shift to low. High blower would come in around 18K I believe.
