In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

You guys have memorial day we Brits have Remembrance Sunday. The Sunday closest to 11th November or armistice day.
We remember our "fallen" today (Sunday 12th)past and present. Just want you guys to know that on a leafy lane in the middle of know where there is a Star Spangled banner flying next to a Union Jack.... next to an abandoned 401st air field.
Today folks from the local village Weldon will have performed a Christian service there and laid Poppies in remembrance to your fallen.
Google 401st bombardment group.... Weldon church.
God bless Great Britain

I guess the guys who drive the trucks, fly in the hardware, feed the troops, repair equipment, treat the sick and wounded, they don't count, huh?
What about those guys who served and were blessed that no war was raging at the time, I suppose they don't get a salute either?
Anyone who raised his right hand and put on the uniform, did so with the understanding that they may find themselves in combat. Everyone of those guys deserves respect.
At least they showed up...
My regards,
Widewing
