Back in 1996 docdog came by my house and told me about this cool online game called Warbirds. He then went through some aerobatics using his hands describing his flight with a P-38 and landing with one smoking engine. I was hooked from that moment on. He and I started the 332nd Flying Mongrels back in Nov of 1997 in Warbirds. A couple of years later we moved over to Aces High. It has been a fun ride with a great host of memories. Many in our squad have become life long friends and have met each other multiple times beyond the yearly conventions. We have shared losses of friends, parents, and even children. We have helped each other out in times of need way beyond what you might find in most squads. From docdog to Hawco we are a squad where men become friends and friends become brothers. To all our non-squad friends online thanks for everything. :) The CM team was a lot of work but well worth the years and time I put forth into Snapshots and Squad Operations. I want to especially thank HTC and their efforts who made this all possible.
It is likely I left someone out or made an error, but below is a mostly complete list current and former members and my apologies to anyone I left out.

First of all for all of your efforts and leadership of our squadron. While I am completely sure that there are squads out there that are as close as ours is the 332nd was the right fit for me and I haven't regretted a day since I've joined.
For lack of a better expression I think we all 'get' each other and genuinelly care about what's going on in each others lives.
I am proud to be associated with the mongrels and, regardless of if I'm flyig or not, I will always be involved with my brothers.

Long live the Mongrels!
Nine years is a long time.
Hope we're around long enough for Daddog to become Grandaddog.

Been with the mongrels since i began in AH about 5 yrs. there was a time when i was going to delete account for a few reasons, I stay cause i made a few friends in squad and the fun i have flying with them on friday's. The game is not important anymore but the fun i have in the game is, thanks for the fun 332. Thanks DD for letting me flywith the dogs. I have found out too that once a dog is always a dog ,

Happy B-Day Mongrels! :)

Great job guys! It is tough keeping a squad going and a lot of effort has to be put forth by all.
You guys are a class act and I hope that you are around another 9 yrs!

Thank you all. :)
LOL good question storch? What is it now? 1 human year is 5 dog years? Or is it 7?
see my first C.O. GA in there...
GA was a great guy. We really enjoyed his short stint with our squad. He told ghosth and I from the get go he wanted to cut his teeth with us and then start his own squad. He did just that and built a fine squad of his own. :) My best to both GA and Nicet. :)

mate,
The Name's Badair. I'm the C.O. of the 332nd in warbirds now. Have noticed recently there've been plenty of folks leaving Wb for AH and figured I'd check it out. What would you say are the differences positive and negative? Figured I'd get the straightest answer from a fellow Redtail ;)

Hello Badair!
My best to you and your squad. I hope they have found years of enjoyment in Warbirds and will continue with that in what ever flight sim they settle on.
I have not flown in Warbirds for many years so I cant really give you a through compare and contrast. I can say that I have attended several Aces High Conventions and have had the pleasure of meeting the small but dedicated staff at Hitech Creations. Their customer service is second to none. I dont know of any other online community that can call the head office and speak to management and or design staff should they desire. You dont get a hold queue, but a person will answer the phone. IMHO that is their greatest asset to the community. From the outside view the development cycle can seem stagnant at times, but that is because players are not always privy to what goes on behind the scenes. I have learned over the years here that they are always working to improve Aces High despite the long waits for something new. There is a great variety of aircraft to choose from and excellent graphics IMHO. Several arenas and during common U.S. time zones usually 400 to 700 players on line at once. Aces High also offers special events that can satisfy just about any events oriented player. If you would like to give it a try you can sign up for the free two week trial. During that time you are more than welcome to fly with my squad to get a taste of the sim and the community. Feel free to e-mail me or private message me and I can share further details if you like.

TY Daddog, love the avatar btw ;) Perhaps I might give it a shot if only to see for myself the differences. I can't see switching over to AH unless most of my squad would come with me but it can't hurt to have a look see
