Title: Several English Maps
Post by: Reynolds on November 11, 2006, 11:36:07 PM
Can anyone find me two maps? Id like one showing all of the eight air force bases (Bombers)? I have several but they are all lacking the one base I want the most, Molesworth (303 Bombardment Group (H), B-17s). And possibly a map of the general area around molesworth? I seem to have nothing but bad luck finding images on the net. Im hoping someone who lives in the UK can find a nice map of the island for me. Thank you very much in advance!

You guys have memorial day we Brits have Remembrance Sunday.  The Sunday closest to 11th November or armistice day.

We remember our "fallen" today (Sunday 12th)past and present.  Just want you guys to know that on a leafy lane in the middle of know where there is a Star Spangled banner flying next to a Union Jack.... next to an abandoned 401st air field.

Today folks from the local village Weldon will have performed a Christian service there and laid Poppies in remembrance to your fallen.

Google 401st bombardment group....  Weldon church.

God bless Great Britain
God bless America
God bless and Keep our fallen

Yea just noticed the large silver shed in the lower right of the photo.  Still looks military with that check point.  Is baseball that popular over in England?  That field over by the bunkers still looks like it gets some use.

Base ball isn't played in this country although there are a couple of teams jotted about.  It is not normally played anywhere outside of USA bases.

In our schools for the under 11's we play "Rounders".  We use a 1 handed shorter bat.  Looks the same shape but about 18 inches to 2 foot long.  Some schools play "soft ball" but it's very rare.

Your game of base ball came from rounders.

Guppy:

Are those images from The Mighty Eighth or The Mighty Eighth War Manual? They look really familiar, and I was just browsing those books.
