Combat Tour: City Screenshots

Look at the home page, what are these pictures about?  Are they new cities for the next update or are they for PEARL HARBOR?

so much is changing that they could call it AHII or call it a totally different game.....

i wonder if HT will release a box'ed version? or use something like steam to sell it to the masses

I would love to see those replace the current MA strat.  would actually take more than 2 or 3 flight of bombers. :D

    John umm I'm not a furballer I Love flying bombers but the current strat targets ar so small that any large bombing mission is just a waste. LOL

I remember one that was only gona start as 2 or 3 flights and we ended up with 10... We had to fly all over rook land just trying to fly over enough factories/cities so everyone would have something to bomb. :)

 I think you got confused.

Not sure, but I doubt you will have to redo your training or whatever, maybe a loss of something.

You die in real life...A single 20mm Hispano pokes out of your computer screen and blows your head into a hundred, bloody, fleshy pieces....  In short, don't die....:noid

Not true and you know it.  What really happens is that you get some blod splater on your screen but you do make it back to the cooler for another beer, even though you will be closinng your eyes for a few secs on the way there :lol

They've talked in the CT board about "careers":

Your character in TOD has attributes such as strength, stamina, perception, luck, etc., that govern various abilities such as G tolerance, stick forces, icon distances, effect of pilot wounds and more. As you gain promotions, you also gain additional attribute points to assign as you see fit. In this way, you can customize the abilities of your character to best suit your own particular combat style. In addition to your pilot gaining abilities, your plane can receive some additional benefits by your ground crew as well.

This sounds to me an awful lot like an application of Role Playing Game (RPG) principles to a flight sim. And in RPGs, if your character dies...he's dead. (Umless you're playing one of those "gnomes and fairies" ones with revive potions...but no self respecting AH'er would run around in tights and pointy ears!)

HT has also talked about CT being a totally different experience, with real in game consequences that change flight behavior. (Dont remember if that was in the CT forum or the convention.)

In short, I'd bet that the possibility of death -- and loss of a character you've incvested so much in -- will be a major part of CT. While that may seem like a pain at first, think of what it will do to suicide buffing and HO attacks!

return it to the old way which linked damage of HQ building to damage of the radar.... so friendly dar first, enermy dar 2nd etc.....

Yes this is the way it should be but they had that lil screw up of not being able to repair the HQ when partally down..   So instead of fixing the problem they slaped this band aid over it that we have now that pretty much killed the good old HQ raid.

it shouldnt be instantly repairable by 5 goons.... thats why people learnt how to game the game, and only take it down partally, leaving 1/4 up. Why fly 2 hours to kill a HQ only to have them reupp it in 5minutes.... smart!

there are plenty of buff killers in this game (190a8, 262, 163 etc) that can kill buffs before they drop.... but again, because no one stopped it, they complained when they lost it and it got "fixed".

now bombers have less targets, so end up as tactical support bombers instead of strat bombers... and now we get whines how bombers take out there FH's etc etc....sigh... lol

if the HQ tile was 2 (or 4?) times the size, and the damage percentage was linked to what was down, it would be much better than the current all or nothing method.

25% damage (ie under 75% on screen) = just friendly dar down. 50% damage (under 50% on screen) = both dars down. 75% damage (under 25% on screen) = friendly dot dar down. 90% damage all dar down. (this would take a massive mission and very unlikely....)

And maybe with a bigger area to blow apart =ing more %'s   then it would take more goons to resup so you couldn't resup so fast unless you did a monster goon mission :D
