No one ever went broke under estimating the taste of the American public.
I guess it no longer amazes me that people have stopped growing out of toilet humor, and stuff that is just plain crude or vulgar. Borat is a prime example. What's really sad is how "intellectual", and "sophisticated" people who find the slime funny think they are.

ITs funny and people like it because of the subject matter.
Its taboo otherwise.
Personally I think the stuff is very funny. Very irreverent and politically incorrect. which is exactly the way I like it.
And its always funny watching people make fools of themselves
And he plays on the fact that given the opportunity. Most people will make fools of themselves

Borat's number is up.

Bond. James Bond
-
I'm hopeful Craig will be the best Bond since Connery.
-
Ah Bond, James Bond! Bet that won't tank.
I know just how Russell Crowe and Will F feel, my latest movie tanked too. :cry It got lousy reviews and it was the first I had a line in too. The critics particularly singled out the scene I was in as the most laughable in an unintentional way.
I tell you the life of a supporting artiste is hard, very hard.:cry :cry

And I'm doubting he's as good or better than Dalton. I think the people running the Bond series now are trying to change the Bond character to make him something he was never intended to be. And screwing the pooch in a major way.
They're trying to make Bond more PC, and trying to make up for it by going overboard on special effects. "How can we make Bond kinder and gentler, and more in touch with his feminine side? We can make up for the loss of non PC masculinity by using the most outlanish and absurd special effects and stunt gags you could possibly think of!" How is that working? It sucks, that's how it's working.
The new guy claimed during shooting that he doesn't like much of what Bond is about, especially guns. But he's making up for it by getting a full frontal nudity scene worked in for him. Isn't that just special.:huh

Im also hoping Bond will be good... its the only movie ive been looking forward to over the last couple of years.
Ive gone from beeing almost a movie nut to not even bothering going to the big films. Last film i saw in a cinema was Star Wars one, and havent rented a single movie since then either. Bond is always something special tho.
-
I wonder if he realizes he will now forever be known as James Bond? Even if hes bad at it.
I saw him in Layer Cake. I think he is a good pick for Bond. But a movie about a poker game...come on...
-
Baccarat, isn't it? ...or did they change that, too?

It would be nice to have a Real Bond again. As someone else put he has gotten to PC.
Bond isnt PC. Bond is the thinking Mans "he man"
Women want to be subservient to Bond. Even strong powerful women end up WANTING to be subservient to Bond.
And the ones that dont. Die.
Its just that simple
As a female psychologist I saw on TV once put it.
"A stong and confident man has the same effect on a woman. As large set of breasts have on a man"
That is Bond. Rugged but at the same time elegent, Bond exudes strength and confidence.
Women want him. Men want to be him.
I dont go to movies much any more either. I'll probably wait For Borat to come out on DVD.
About the only thing I go to the movies for any more is for Epics
Star Wars. SPV, Lord of the Rings, Master and Commander.. that sort of thing

"bond" isn't what it used to be. Now there are so many action hero's bond kind of gets mixed in. XXX, tom cruise, some other people. I think this movie will do OK but won't do what everyone is thinking it will do.

LOL I will never in my lifetime understand what anyone sees in Cruise.
Same thing with Richard Gere
Each seem to only be able to play one role.
they just do it in different movies
I cant think of a single movie either of them has ever been in where they havent been out acted by the supporting cast

yea i don't like either of them. I don't like craig much either. Best action movies were with stallone and arnold. Both terrible actors and they new they were. Nothing like these guys now who think they are doing something great but just suck.
I miss the glory days of action movies.... :cry

Dred..I have one guy in mind that is ALWAYS the same character.
Jeff Goldblum playing Jeff Goldblum. He could be cast as Moses, Hitler, or Jeff Gordon...and he would just be Jeff Goldlum in costume.

You have'nt read about the new film, have you? It is not loaded with CGI. Bond is not a cartoon character. This is Bond earning his "00" and getting bloody in the process. They are returning to the roots of the Ian Fleming character.
Think of it as Bourne, Jason Bourne.

I have a guess that only young people find it funny. I have yet to see anyone over 30 think that it’s funny….

LOL Yup. thats another one for sure.
He was however cast perfectly as Ian Malcolm in Jurrassic Park
I found him just as annoying in the movie as I did in the book,as I do in real life LOL

Im 31 and love the humor.

I'm 52 and do not find it funny at all.
But I do like Adam Sandler's later stuff. I think he peaked in "Anger Management" though. His early stuff is incredibly irritating.
On British humor, I really like Monty Python and who could not find Benny Hill hilarious.

See I dont like Sandler. Though I would agree he peaked in Anger management.
But I only think he did was because of Nicholson
I fnd Sandlers style more irritating then funny
Same thing with Jim Carrey
Though I'd have to rate Carrey slightly higher then Sandler
As he had at least a couple movies he was actually good in
"Bruce Almighty"
"Dumb and Dumber"
And he was the perfect choice to play the Riddler in "Batman Forever"

Liar Liar was my favorite Jim Carrey...although Bruce Almighty is a close second. Carrey is better when he colors more between the lines. I saw Borat this weekend and thought it was hilarious. Especially when Bob Barr eats the traditional Kazak cheese.
