I get the idea, I think. The little guy wants to fly so badly that he jumps straight down a cliff, lol.

But what's with the rope and the tree and the nails? That part kinda lost me.

he nailed every damn tree he could find to a cliff to make his last flight more realistic.

I may be a complete dork, but I thought that concept was beautiful!  I love how he nails all of the tree's into the cliff, creating a new vertical world, so he indeed is "flying" instead of simply "falling" to his death....The tear drop was great too!!!!

He was never in the horizontal...The entire time was a freefall, but by nailing all of those tree's into the cliff, it would create the illusion of true flight....

that is some peoples jobs animating. I want to but i am poor and stupid. Animation software is about $2k for quality stuff.

I'm sure it's copyrighted as heck.  If you've got a copy of The Incredibles it's on Disk Two.  If you saw it in theaters it was the short film before the movie after the previews.
