I downloaded with ie, setup and near 90-95% of the setup it gives the message bad or corrupted inst file and stops setup.
I have downloaded more than 3 times and it gives always the same mess.
All these after a new xp sp2 installation after format.
Pc works great exept ah installation.
Whats wrong ? is AH2083.exe corrupted ?

in a second thaught ,if i have these problems (here from 1992),
how many new customers has just gone IF they have the same setup problems ?
-
Now listen, i have found a old version of AHii, 2061.exe, i run it, log,
and start downloading from AH interface with 19k speed, and setup has gone very well.
So There Is A Problem With IE when downloading ? is IE corrupt the file ?
Then there is a big problem with new customers.
All new customers download AH with IE.

Sounds like a corrupt download. Might be somthing like you have to make sure the previous is deleted before redownloading.

I had a situation a few months ago that necessitated downloading AH for a fresh install on the same machine I had always run it on. Same kinda thing - about 90% into setup it would CTD with standard ms error reporting stuff. After several times of wiping everything slick and downloading again, always with the same result, I for whatever reason right clicked the EXEcutable file and the properties had it set for Windows 98 compatibility mode. I didn't do it. But I changed that property and setup ran flawlessly. I've downloaded it again since for install on a new machine and had no problems. Skuzzy could offer no explanation. I have no clue other than what I just related. Go figure. Gremlins I guess. :huh

It was deleted before every setup. ( 4 downloadings & setups).
Anyway im ok now, if others can download it with ie and setup it well,
then maybe was a gremlin inside my pc. :)
I suggest a test download with IE and setup to secure that new players will have no problems. Just, someone, check it.
HT thanks for the responce :)

I just had the same problem. I DL'd from both links and even tried to install into a new directory on another HD with no luck. Both links seem to give me corrupted files.
Finaly I decided that instead of DLing and saving the file I'd select 'Open' from the dialog box and the game installed into the directory I selected w/o any problems.
Thank Cod for Cable.
