ive been working about 1 hour a night on for a weekon a 190d9 skin (for fun) and today i go into the offline arena to look at it and what a supprise i couldnt see it didnt show in the skins selection area so i was just wondering why cant i look at my skins
P.S. 190d9 is the most fun plane to make a skin for! :aok

well, this might sound kinda stupid but, since the patch have you made sure you have the box checked to veiw skins?
failing that ya might wanna double check and make sure the skin is still in the skins folder. The new patch might have comprimised it.
-
ok ill go check that out :aok
-
ya
um
no it didnt work thanks for the idea

I believe that they have a new naming convention for skins. I looked in my skins folder and the 190D9 skins are numbered ...
190d9_1.res
thru
190d9_12.res
try
190d9_13.res
-
that didnt work :cry lol
-
No.
Only the folder would have to be called -
190d9_13
The bitmap inside the folder would just be 190d9
-
ok thanks for the help guys

come on someone has to have an idea

ideas we have LOTS of, fixes....well guess we r comming up short on them.
However upon reading pyros latest patch notes , he mentions a fix regarding skins d/ling in the background.
I know there was an issue with the f4u skins not displaying properly.
if the folders are labeld correctly AND they are in the right location and all your T's are crossed and i's are dotted and it STILL dont work, then either email or call the office. HT pyro or skuzzy can probably sort ya out.
Now, after a looooooooong day at work im pretty much tapped out of idears.
Just remember
"When all else fails, call HT he da MAN!"

What is the skin named?
-
weazely:
Normaly when creating skins off line just use the #1 skin.
So your Folder name should be 190D9_1 under the skins folder.
Files in that folder should be
190D9.txt the line that appears in the hangar to select it .
with out this file AH will not look for the bitmaps in the folder.
190D91.bmp the name of the 190d9 skin, note the 1.bmp does NOT corispond to the _1 it is just what we named the skin. To make a copy of the default skins in the hangar offline, just right click the D9 and hit save skin.
This will make a folder called 190D9 in the skins folder with all the bit maps currently used by the d9.

ty HiTech.
This "fix" worked for me. I'm happy.

Weazely, I suggest you take this to the "Custom Sounds and Skins Forum".... I believe there are threads with step to step rundowns on how to create/view skins. Youll have a lot more luck over there, searching that Forum.

Hitech, some folks have been having problems getting any single skin to show up. I have (on occasion) had similar problems in the past. None recently. However I would like to ask:
Is this intentional? Are you only adding this support for 1 custom skin at a time? I'd much rather have all 15 slots available offline.
For example, during the course of 1 skin I might have 2 ways of making bare metal finish, and 2 material files, so I can make 4 skin directories and have a combination of each skin with each material to find what's best (just switch them rapidly in offline mode and check them out).
Also I've been in the habit of working on multiple skins at the same time. I developed 3 C205 skins simultaneously, each with their own directory, and while doing this I didn't want to "overwrite" the default and the 2 accepted skins already (used for comparison), so I started my skins as 3, 4, and 5 instead of 1 , 2 and 3. I didn't run into any problems at the time, but I'd like to make sure this won't be a problem in the future.

Am I reading this wrong, are you missing the CUSTOM skin but still have the downloaded ones or missing all of them? If its the first, this is going to sound stupid. Check all of the skins for yours. I made a Hurri MK1 skin, and it wasnt selectable. However after browsing through the skins, it appears it has overwrote Blue's Hurri skin. So I now have a black hurri skin offline instead of, I believe his name is apologies if I get it wrong, Blue13. Check that. If its the second choice, I have no idea. Sorry. Could create a new folder?
