Today at 12:30 the annual Santa Claus parade took place here. I haven't been in a very long time and decided to take my camera and enjoy the festivities and I'm very glad I did.
I walked over to Queens Park Crescent (University Ave) and perched upon a cement pillar about 7 feet above the ground. (until a uniformed cop came and told me and others to get down :o )
The first thing to happen was about 200 colourful clowns with sacks of prewrapped candy that they were tossing out hand over fist to everyone.

When the clowns emptied their sacks they refilled them in the wagon that followed them.

I don't really know what this float was all about, but it was colourful so I included it.

One of the biggest symbols of the Great White North is of coarse the Polar Bear. He was a big success.

One band that stood out was the Chilton High School Marching Band from Wisconsin. They were very entertaining and were greeted with much appreciation.

The band that I felt were one of the two best was this group from Attica NY. The Attica Senoir High School Marching Band were fantastic. They looked great. They sounded fantastic. They were really polished and met with allot of applause.

This float is more like an advert for Happy Feet but still the kids loved it.

This next marching band, Kelly's Hero's, is from Caledonia NY.

And finally the man of the hour, Santa.

I hope you all enjoy these photos. Special thanks to the participation of the US bands who helped make this a really great parade today.
Seems appropriate to say Merry Christmas to one and all.

Great pictures once again, Toronto. I really enjoy the holidays I just find it hard to get into them before Thanksgiving. Of course you folks up north celebrate it a bit earlier. If it was at night those clowns might be getter with a black light on them.

Thanks for posting; great pics!

I forgot to say I liked the polar bear the best. They forgot the Coca-Cola product placement though.

Looks like the Attica HS band hated Canada. I mean, look at thier faces!

Diablo I think it's intense focus. That band was doing some very clever marching/dancing/prancing...the many girls with their stylized flags were doing a syncronized show with lots of cool moves. That group from Attica was 5 star all the way.
-
LOL, true...but they're just holding the banner. They need to concentrate on that?
I loved being in marching band in H.S. Those girls were easy.
:D
