Title: Need help with new laptop!

Received the new laptop. It wouldn't connect to comcast cable (I removed the router, tried direct connection from cable modem to new laptop, powered everything down, didn't work. connection works fine with my other laptop!)

So, I flattened it. Reloaded WinXP home. disabled the firewall. Still no connection. I tried to ping it(IPCONFIG) and the dos window just flashes by..doesn't stay up.

I'm running out of tricks! I have two good lights on the jack for the ethernet...

go to start--->run and then in the run box type CMD

then at the dos prompt, type IPCONFIG

that will bring up the ip box.

Disregard, it was a driver update problem. Fixed!
