If your looking at it for the air war dont bother.

Ground war is great if you know whats going on. Find someone who will teach you everything.

Read and watch this stuff while its downloading and installing...

You could have had your answer immediately and with less typing if you would have just Googled it.  Even MSN search returns the right webpage as the #1 return on a search.

played it for a year and a half or just about...

step learning curve, real fun though...

air war is none existant, its video game style, just couldn't get into it. probably because I played AH too long...

I was into tanks and sniper rifle and of course the 88, in the end I was a bad *** sapper, always wanted to do that...

pro's

great fun once you get used to it...  ex: 20 Tigers, 30 Panzer attack on a big city(with air support)...damn that was fun

con's

some lag, hard to understand at 1st, no air per say, and need a GOOD graphics card/machine...the big one is the GERMANS always win, Allies have bad equipement and not enough players...

try it, you might enjoy it...

Red Orchestra rocks. except for one o the developers hates the mg-42 and has porked it from a lethal machine of death dealing to a full auto red ryder with a cone of fire the size of massachusetts.

i disagree with some here, i still like ww2online, and i like the Airwar part too,
maybe its not easy to get Kills & Rank, but thats why alot people write
dont bother hehe.
If you are an expirienced virtuall combat Pilot, you will do good in ww2ol, if you
are a newbie it can be hard for you! ;)

"32 player limit on servers????"

Yes and no.

"Yes" in that you'll be lucky to ever be able to "see" 32 other players around you (major performance problems) but "no" in that the game is run on one host and would constitute as massively multi-player.

There a lot of things people there do to increase their FPS. Turning on NOLOCKTOREFRESH, checking the box in the videocard display program that "allows the applicaiton to control vertical syncing" Make sure your monitor's refresh rate is higher than windows default value of 60fps and right clicking on each ww2 executable and selecting Compatibility then NT. I run the SSE executable and it seems smooth.I am on the freebie and may stay.

128 players max view, then they seem to prioritize who you see and you can turn down the number  96 then 64 and the air war is better than you might think. I am really enjoying the AAA. I did suck big time until I teamed up with a squad and this made all the difference.

There has been a glitch they had to fix for the newly created accounts and there is a post saying it should be working now.

Considering in WW2OL you can't see more than 32 players anyway, RO is great , cheaper quality alternative.

Servers are full, and the fire fights are fast and feirce. And the graphics are update to date, unlike WW2OL.

No crawling for 20 mins to get sniped by someone camping for 4 hrs hoping someone decides to crawl 20 mins in their direction.

Bestbuys selling it instore for 19.99.
That's practically one month of frustration in WW2OL.

I just bought RO last week and really liked the little that I've played it offline.  How does it compare to MOH?

It doesn't MOH is more in the catagory of COD, or DOD.

MOH is dead in my opinion. COD kicked its but on all platforms and left it in the dust. I still break out my PS1 once a year and play the multiple MOH games I have.

MOH on a PC.  I think the xbox versions sucked.

I played that game non-stop online for about a year.  It actually got me away from AH.  Had some good times on various servers.

MOH on xbox was very scripted.

Well, so is COD but I still don't like either one of them on a console.

True.

FPS should stay on the PC in my opinion. I loved Halo on my xbox and was very biased toward the PC version. Then I played it on my friends PC and loved it more.

You know, now that I think about it, I thought I saw a gamepad/controller much like a keyboard as a peripheral controller for consoles at Fry's when I was there last.  I'll have to go back and look at em.

Just tried shootout, - downloadable from the history channel.
It works now, and is as far as I tried, decent fun.

In WW2online you can have 128 players visible.

Once WW2OL gets a bit better cover for the infantry it will be real good.

Right now its more like a game of paintball speedball.

and of course.. they need to introduce mortars. Most battles in that game are really WW1 with streams of soldiers rushing into machine gun fire and no real way of softening a target before an assault. I've had a light machine gun in the uppermost floor of a destroyed building and shot well over 50 EI (enemy infantry) that were rushing in from a spawn truck before I ran outta ammo.

If the other guys had a mortar for support or some sort of artillery the building i was in and all other objects facing the spawn truck wouldve been creamed with high explosive rounds before the EI rushed in.

I hope this is not against forum rules, but I found this video and well, the music is great of world war 2 Online. If the link is wrong, tell me and I will delete it, but between AH and this game I am having great nights.
