Title: Rolling vs Flat Scissors (P38)
Post by: Damionte on November 25, 2006, 02:22:50 PM
Heya Gang,

I'm having trouble grasping the true concept and difference between a flat scissors & a rolling scissors.

I believe I understand the concept of the flat scissors. it's easy to see in my head. I've also seen it performed many times and can regonise it. I also understands that it's not a move the P38 does well due to those big boy wings and slow roll rate.

In another thread on P38 evasion someone noted that a slow speed rolling scissors would be a preferred defensive move in many situations.

I don't really understand how. Probably because I don't truly know what the rolling scissors is. Is it more of a barrel roll move ? Compared to the flatter turn of the flat scissors?

Or is it kind of a half turn, half loop thing? I've read the common discription on the regularly visited education sites we have but I don't get it.

A rolling scissor basically consists of two planes barrel rolling around each other.

Im sure this thread will help you:
