Title: Name this plane
Post by: Torcher on November 26, 2006, 09:37:23 AM
Today I was up in a 51D at 17k and spied a contact lower than me. Probably 15k or so. Just a dot contact, no ID.

I dropped my tank and pushed over into a shallow dive to come in behind the contact. They must have done a shallow dive to because I could not close but they leveled at around 10k. They then proceeded to take out the radar at three consecutive bases as they passed over each. No diving, just level flight at around a speed of 350.

The sectors were clear bardar-wise until they entered them. There was no base or city flashing, prior to the contact getting in proximity, indicating GV presence to knock out the base dar.

Yes, I wanted to shoot the bastage down at first, but then I just wanted to get close enough to ID. Never did. I nosed down for speed, WEPed, everything but could not get close enough.

What A/C in here can carry 3 eggs, drop them level from 10k acurately to take out radar at over 350 speed and all the time pull away from a wepping 51? They never once nosed down for a quick dive bomb run. always level.

only an arado whose pilot set up the bomb run well in advance could have pulled that one off.  next time, film it, maybe you will be lucky enough to identify the plane

Had to be a single AR234. Nothing else in the game has the performance, or level bombing capability. Question should be who was the arado driver?

I have to disagree mate, it really aint that hard.....

1- Get speed stable <--- Takes a while
2- Goto F6 and press U then hold Y for 10 - 15 seconds.
3- Drop on target

I have dropped the DAR at three bases more than once...

Mussie i was referring to taking the time to get the stable speed... the rest is as easy as any other bomber

hardest thing on the arado isn't the speed, but he lineup. because you're going so fast, the drones are incredibly stupid, and it'll take you a distance of 10 miles to make a u turn in the things, without your drones flying off alone...

of course, it may have been a single, which makes it far easier.. they get a steady speed fairly quickly too.

Man ya gotta fly it single... ya cant mess with fighters when ya got drones to think of :)

The AR234 is my favorite twenty one thousand pound scout :)
