WHOOAAAAAAAAAAAAA HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
What a game. Pats just proved today that they are legitimate contenders for the Super Bowl.
on the other hand, the Giants proved today that they completely suck, for anyone that didn't know already
-
Yeah, just finished watching it. I never get sick of watching Tom Brady play. The anti-Michael Vick!!! Hehehe
-
Holy crap...I just saw the lowlights of the NYG game.
That was some bizarre stuff.
:O
-
They turned the ball over 5 times, this makes them a superbowl contender? What saved them is that Chicago turned it over four times.
They beat the Rams in SB XXXVI because of turnovers. They scored 17 points off turnovers without turning the ball over themselves, ballgame.
You can't win if you can't take care of the ball, how you get contender out of that i'll never know.
-
What happened in the Giants game is that the world just got to watch Vince Young mature as a professional QB in front of their very eyes. I haven't seen one player put the team on their back the way he did today in a LONG time. The Giants made some mistakes, but definitely don't take away from what he did today. After half a season of taking it from behind, it's great as a Titans fan to watch a game like that one. I'll be floating on cloud nine for a while now. :)
Just to add, you can't say the Pats are contenders based on that game. They got lucky that Grossman threw that last ball in the wrong spot. A couple yards to the right and everyone would be talking about the demise of Belichek and his boys.
-
I disagree with the last two posts...Then again if things remain like they are, Pats go into the playoffs with the lowest divisional win seed. great game though, especially watching Samuel pick off three passes. Makes me wish playing SS
-
lol Cav.
-
The Pats are always contenders. They run hot and cold. The cold times you just hope the other team is running cold too. Like the Bears game. Take away all the turnovers and the Pats still would have won.
Brady jinking away from #54 was the highlight for me. That and seeing Brady talking to him right after it happened.
-
That was very suprising Filth...I was expecting Brady to slide, especially going against Urlacher...
-
You could tell Urlacher was mad as hell about it too. (at himself) I couldn't believe it.
I love Grossman, but he gift wrapped that game for the Pats, and like a good team, they took it.
Defensively for the Bears, it was weird. It seemed, at times, like the only way they could stop the Pats was forcing turnovers. New England was the first team this year to move the ball consistently the length of the field on 'em. I think they only punted twice.

I guess you weren't around for the missin' Sisson years eh?
The secondary is a problem, Hobbs was a victim far too often. If Harrison and Wilson can get healthy by the end of the season, maybe they can make a run. As they are right now, how can you call them contenders? You seem to forget that Denver beat them pretty easy and Indy made it look easy too, both games played at home. That's not contender material.
They lost Seau too, for the season
They run hot and cold.
Yeah, when they're not contending, like last year. Every SB was preceded by a run of dominant football. The back to back years they went 14-2(17-2 overall) each season, that's not hot/cold, it's domination.
Take away all the turnovers and the Pats still would have won.
Take away all the turnovers and the Rams would have won. You can't win a championship turning the ball over, and all the Bears game showed me was they still are not taking care of the ball.
If making the dance makes you a contender, then yes, they are contenders. If beating winning teams in your conference at home makes you a contender, then no, they are not.
Brady jinking away from #54 was the highlight for me.
#54 is going to take a good ribbing in the film room this week :D
-
Turnovers or not.
The Pats still beat the best team the NFC at the moment has to offer.
I think the AFC will once again win the Superbowl
The question is which NFC team gets to play the part of sacrificial lamb

The mayor of Saugus (pronounced Sorg-giss) wants you out of town by tomorrow night. :)
