Time for another request for more filmviewer features :)
HTC will be the main beneficiary of this because it will mean that the community can make better films...
better films = shows game more positively = free advertising = more subscribers.

Unless I have something misconfigured, when you jump to a different plane than the one the film originated from, their instruments display with no needles/indicators. I cant tell the speed they were at, their exact flap settings, trim conditions, nada.
Dont get me wrong, I think the idea of being able to view things from another plane is fantastic already, but since this is the wishlist forum... then I shall make my wish known.

Peru, you can actually read their speed on the list to the right.
Nogo on the flaps/throttle though.
I agree, this would help a lot to understand fights.

Ah. I see. I typically use full screen. Good to know though :)
Can you give me that apple pie recipe?

After the con there was talk that HTC was going to change it so that every flight was filmed automatically. At the end of the sortie you would be asked if you wanted to save the film.
Any more word on this?

How about being able to hear your own plane too?

I doubt we would ever see any other a/c instrument settings, or flap settings. It would mean that that even more information (throttle, RPM, acceleration readings, Fuel loads, trim settings etc etc) from other players front-ends would have to be sent to all other players who are in visible range. Some info i assume is already sent like heading, aileron, rudder, elevator inputs, flap settings etc. To add more information would mean more information has to be packaged up and sent and managed, and then unpackaged etc and processed at the other ends and would lead to increased traffic that the server has to forward as well as increasing the volume of traffic coming down the wire to you.
What I'm getting at, is it may take more effort and waste more resources than its really worth.
What i would like to see in the film viewer is a truly independently positional camera - the ability to program the camera position in terms of X, Y, Z, and Time, rather than having it relatively fixed to the aircraft you have selected. So you can effectively program a chase-camera which you can fly anywhere in the virtual world and then have the camera able to pan, tilt etc from that position. Would make for endless cinematographic possibilities.
